1/2 inch diameter, assorted colors Save your fly floatant for your dry flies! These great indicators are more sensitive and cast easier (ie - doesn't act like a parachute) than a yarn indicator. * Uses revolutionary trapped air technology * Casts like a champ in any weather condition * Easy to attach and adjust * Stays in place on your line * Never sinks and does not require any floatant * Ultra Sensitive The Thingamabobber is a new design in strike indicators from WestWater Products. Its design was inspired by western guides who use small balloons as indicators for their buoyancy and sensitivity. Already a favorite among guides who have tried it, the Thingamabobber combines all of the best strike indicator elements in one simple design. It is buoyant, easy to cast, ultra sensitive, durable, affordable.

A lot of fun to fish panfish with on a fly rod
I love these. I use them mostly when bream and crappie fishing. I use a New Zealand strike indicator for trout. The only issue I have is they can get a knot in them which makes it difficult to remove or change depth. I wished they made a model with a smaller line grommet that would accept a worm fishing rubber peg. If using larger line the peg works fine and makes it easier to change depth and rarely do you get tangles. I toothpick works as well but I feel it is more likely to damage your line. There is something exhilarating about seeing the thing-a-ma-bobber pop up on the water when a crappie hits the fly. BTW.....the best crappie fly going is the Pink-a-Nator sold by Pop's Let it Fly fly shop in Pagosa, Colarado. Pop's graciously tied the fly to my specs. It is a woolly bugger that is white with a subtle pink under wrapping and white pearl flashabou palmered over it. It has a bright pink bead head. Crappie cannot resist it. On a recent trip I caught a few crappie on a jig under a cork with my spinning reel. I missed a lot of fish because they just weren't taking it. I rigged up the fly rod with a Thing-A-Ma-Bobber and a pinkanator and fished it about 18 in deep around some coontail grass....it was game on. I went from catching only a few to catching over 100...releasing most.
