So far we haven't had a chance to mount it, so don't know how it will work. I imagine it will be fine. One thing to warn you about. Read the fine print. The picture shows a brass chandelier and that is what I wanted, but when it arrived it was solid white. No brass at all. It matches well enough but not the color I was expecting
