Second one we have had. Works great. Only wish plastic bins and lids were more durable. Lasted fairly long time but with cracks and chips. We bought again because of ease to use and size.

My old steamer was 20 years old, so this one seems very light weight the plastic seems very thin, it works very well, but I am disappointed there is no ding or bell to let you know that the timer has stopped. So I’m usually running around doing 100 things and I like to get my butter and seasoning on the vegetables right away and yet it’s been turned off for 10 minutes and I had no idea so I do find that disappointing that there’s no alert that the timing is up other than that it’s OK

This steamer has 2 very small steaming baskets. Forget about steaming corn on the cob unless you cut it into pieces. It takes along time to heat up… I wish i had my old Oster steamer back;2 large oval basket which held everything…crab legs, corn on the cob, asparagus .😡

For the price this steamer works wonderful.

Does it steam? Yes.What I don't like about it is the really cheap and flimsy steamer bowls.I have an Oster steamer I purchased 15 years ago. The bowl on it is literally 2.5 thicker than these cheap pieces of crap.On the upside if one of the bowls breaks you have a spare...until it breaks.
