After accumulating about an hour’s practice of a tai chi sword form the guard has come loose and cannot be retightened. The handle is fixed to the tang (the decorative detail in he center of the handle is a hollow rod / set-pin through the tang) so the bolt on the end holds only the pommel in place but has no other effect. As far as I can tell, there is no way to tighten the hilt assembly so that the guard snugs up against the shoulder of the blade enough to refrain from jiggling and turning. This is a good looking sword for display but can’t be counted on to hold up to even the lightest use.

It has good balance and weight but the blade might be a bit more flexible.I have another similar practice sword with a bit less flexibility. After I practice Wu Dang sword (require faster movement, precision, power, up and down, open and close, ....) for a while, some parts start to get loose. I have to manually screw them tight.I will see if this one has similar issue.
