I want to like this fan. It looks good and runs very quiet. The remote control works well but it will not reverse the fan. You have climb up and change the switch on the top of the motor housing to reverse it. Installing it was a pain but installing most ceiling fans is a pain. I was replacing a 30+ year old fan that hangs from a beam suspended between two other beams and had to do a bit of custom work to get the wiring into the available space but that was my problem, not the fans. As others have noted, it really adds to the difficulty of installing any fan where you must install the blades before you mount the fan. This is one of those. The first company to do the obvious thing and have plug-in bayonet mount blades will become the one recommended by installers.You will need a 9 volt battery for the remote control. It is not included. The biggest and most annoying problem for me was that the promised included halogen light bulb was not included and I have wasted a lot of time trying to find a bulb that fits, so far with no satisfaction. It looks like a candelabra type base would fit but it doesn't. There is no specification anywhere for the bulb, except "Halogen" and 100 watt maximum. The next annoyance is that there is no source of information - no one to ask what style of bulb I need. There are lots of distributors but no support. No website address or contact information of any kind with the reasonably good instructions. Amazon wouldn't know - it's not their job. They would take the fan back but I have way too many hours invested in this thing now to start over just to find the right light bulb.So, because the bulb was missing; because there is no apparent way of getting any technical information, I can't recommend any fan by aireryder.Update: I am upgrading my review of this fan. A very helpful reader read my comments and passed on the information about the proper bulb for the light. See his comments attached to my review if you need that information. I ordered the miniature candelabra bulb from Amazon and it works just fine. So my only remaining complaints are 1) The total lack of available support from the manufacturer, and 2)The inconvenience of the reversal switch. The fan looks good and runs quietly. The remote works just fine and can be used to dim the light and contrary to my earliest comments, can also turn the fan off.

We still haven't figured out how to make it stop wobbling so much on high, andI think it looks cheap. I regret buying it for my family room.... Not a bad fan just wish it looked nicer

I purchased this ceiling fan to replace a similar fan than I found in my kitchen when I purchased my condo three years ago. I love the modern looks of the fan and the light dimmer is great. It tooks the electrician less than an hour to install it.

We had a professional electrician install our fan. It's quiet and looks very nice. The only negative about this fan, I would say, would be installation. My electrician said that he's installed many fans in the past 9 years, but this was the first one that he'd installed where you have to connect the blades before installing, which made it difficult to install as the blades were in the way.

Nice clean fan. Some pulsating hum on medium and high. Not bad but noticeable.Installation-- Blades attach through slots before the fan attaches to ceiling. More time consuming and awkward installation.

This fan is a great addition to our living room. We are very happy with it. I would recommend it.

The fan is very nice. It was easy to install and is not too loud. You can hear it but, it is much quieter than some of the fans I have owned in the past. It moves a lot of air and the dimmable light feature is very helpful.
