Kiteboarding Self Launch Tool - Black Aluminum Kite Launch Tool

I rec'd this item this evening. The carabiner is clearly stamped, "Made in China." The carabiner is also stamped, "Not For Climbing." A tool that is designed and marketed as a self-launch / tethered-launch kite tool, in my opinion, should to be capable of holding down a kite as it tumbles into the power zone and hot launches. Not that I ever want this scenario to occur and would do everything in my power to avoid it, but it is one of many dangerous scenarios that can occur in kiting. Therefore, I assumed this tool would be capable of suspending an overweight human or two in mid-air indefinitely, but it's "Not for Climbing." Hmmm. My confidence took a hit. Then I realized the larks head design somewhat limits what objects one can attached this device too. I wanted to tie it to a medium size tree on my local beach. This would only be possible by attaching the small loop at the end of the webbing to the carabiner thereby reducing the overall slack b/t the tree and the carabiner. This isn't a deal breaker, but is suboptimal. I'm not disappointed here as I didn't watch the online instruction close enough to realize this. There are no instructions that came with the product but the online video is good enough. Finally, the stitching on the webbing is what you'd find on any other backpack / outdoor product. In other words, it doesn't appear any special attention was given to manufacture webbing that is up to the task of holding a kite. I might use this product in a pinch, but am extremely uneasy with the engineering and quality. I'm going to a climbing shop for carabiner and to a construction rigging shop for a nylon lifting sling so I can at least use items that have published load ratings. I should have just gone this route in the first place. Color me over-cautious. Duh.
