It's better than nothing
I go this DVD as soon as it became available. Working my way through the menu I began to listen to the songs I really wanted to hear. It was tough because there are so many great covers of their stuff on this concert. Wooden Ships shows Stills just blistering the guitar. I had my 15 & 24 year old watch it with me and just waited to hear them respond. They DID. Then i took them to Suite Judy Blue Eyes and that floored them as well. Same with Southern Cross and Wasted on the Way, especially the vocals. Stills' voice is so strong on this, as is Nash's. Stills is clearly in control both vocally and musically. When i first saw the DVD it appeared that Crosby was stoned out of his mind. When i checked the date of the concert i realized this was just before I saw him at The Wax Museum (an irony for his present condition) in Washington, DC. He was barely coherant then and kept leaving the stage to do whatever it was he was doing to stay high. He had the same look in this concert. His voice is tentative and he comes across as almost terrified to be on stage. Nash's harmonies are heavenly as usual. The song selection and delivery is well worth the investment. The back and forth between Stills and Finnegan during Wooden Ships is amazing.

Great Concert!!!
I used to have this on VHS but it was lost in the shuffle many years ago......If you were a fan of Crosby, Stills & Nash then you won't be sorry you purchased this. I think what amazes me (besides the amazing musicianship of all the side men) is the fact that the studio songs you're used to hearing such as 'Long Time Gone' and 'Wooden Ships' are really geared for a live sound!!! They sound a bit different from the LPs but in a great way! Like the same songs on steroids........and it give the band more time to get into some nice solos. Drummer is great.....Bass Player is amazing....and the keyboardist Michael Finnigan will blow your socks off with his B-3 playing and his vocals!

Worthy addition to any CSN collection
Being a long time, hard core CSN fan I read all the reviews before deciding to take a chance and purchase this dvd. With all the negative comments I wasn't expecting much. Turns out this concert deserves to be in any CSN fan's collection.Granted, the comments on Crosby's condition/lack of contribution are mostly right on, he was certainly not playing with all his facilties. But Stills and Nash carry the day. Makes you wonder just how significant Crosby was to the group in the first place.Any seasoned CSN concert goer learns that it is always a crap shoot when you go to a CSN concert. I've seen them live 6 times. Some nights they are on(and incredible), other nights(not so good). This night Stills and Nash were on. Stills clearly shows why he is one of the best acoustic/singer performers around. I've seen Nash get excited and animated in other concerts when he knew they were on that night. Same with this concert. So . . . if you are a fan, buy it and play it loud. Not many stinkers on this one.

Well worth having.
Hey Paul Duffy (see review below), could it be that Cathedral is a great song and you are just a wanker? There's a reason Graham Nash has sold millions of records and you are relegated to writing amaturish reviews on Amazon. What is LCD anyway? It does seem like they've done some post production magic on this video. As I recall from my laserdics of this concert, Graham was off key several times during the show. Is it my imagination or did they clean that up some?Of the CSN I've seen on video I like this one the best (for sound quality & performance). Too bad they didn't film the 4-Way street concert. That is one of the best live albums ever produced.

Always check for region codes
Mixed review here. The DVD that I got was not a region code 1 DVD. Usually, you get a warning from other reviews or even on the Amazon page. Either there wasn't one, or I just missed it, due to my enthusiasm to purchase this DVD. Although, it does play on my computer, as I can change the region code there(my DVD player is unhackable). Having done that, I watched this and it is a very good video. I was originally expecting the Showtime special that aired in 1983. This seems to have more songs, so expect Showtime edited this down to an hour. I would have to check out a dusty old VHS tape to be sure on that. The quality is OK, considering the source material, now 30 years old, but it could be better, leaving me wishing I would have just sprung for the 3 disc version of the CSN concerts that also includes this one.

One of the Better Concert DVD's
like others have posted, Nash and Stills were on fire! my Boy David is fine, if subdued. not wild-eyed as some said, the camera angle helps reinforce the idea (on some side views), but Crosby was laid back more than anything.

They made it look like hard work :(
This concert was almost emotionless. It seemed to me like they had to WORK at this concert instead of enjoying themselves on stage they were almost " stiff". No excitement in the atmosphere at all. The concert was downright " boring "Nash tries to get some enthusiasm going , but it just didn't work. " Wasted on the Way" was the best performance of this concert , all the other songs are easily " fast-forwardable"If you're a CSN collector you need the DVD, if you're just a fan, skip this one and go for another CSN concert with some Umph ! This one lacked it , that's for sure.

Best Performance
I have to admit that this is the best live recording of these guys I've ever heard. In spite of all the digs against David, he is absolutely spot on for the whole performance. Stephen's guitar playing is brilliant & Graeme's voice is perfect. With the exception of Celtic Woman, this is my favorite vocal performance of all time.
