Liquid Light, Black and White Emulsion, 8 Oz

This is a great product…one I have a lot of fun with. Yes, it has it’s quirks, but once you do some trials on smaller items, you will get the hang of it quickly. The product was current (had a best use by date of 1 year from now) which is great. Sometimes I buy darkroom products and find they are already past their prime or expiration date. The product worked as expected and the customer support was very responsive.

i don't know whether i am to blame or if it was defective. i tried to use it on glass and had zilch to show for it. pre-coated with varnish, applied like a coat and a half of product. something should have showed up on the plate even if it were black splotches

I've used this on a number of surfaces. the most appealing is on hot press watercolor paper. coated aluminum is a close second (a little harder to fix, but try to be patient and let that fix soak in) my classmates were struggling with keeping the gelatin to stay on their surfaces. they would use the same aluminum and coating i did, but must've missed a step or something- their photographs would slide right off when they were developing it. I had no issues. i would recommend this if you are a traditional darkroom printer, but be very cautious to not overheat it or leave it open unless you are actively pouring it. someone borrowed mine and fogged what was left because they left it open near the safelight or boiled it for way too long. treat it cautiously and put it on clean de-oiled surfaces and you should be good!
