NICE BALANCE BETWEEN TASTE, TEXTURE AND AFFORDABILITY
I have been relying on Goya products for many years and I trust the Goya brand implicitly. I first bought Goya chorizos about 30 years ago when I lived in the Washington Heights (mostly Dominican) neighborhood of Manhattan (NYC). Now, usually buy these from my local Shop Rite, but since I was buying saffron on Amazon, I figured I would buy my Goya chorizos from Amazon as well. I've read quite a few reviews about this product, and I don't think it's appropriate to try to compare these chorizos to an artisanal brand or old-world family recipe, because these are MUCH LESS expensive, and you still that get authentic Spanish flavor and texture you look for in a chorizo. And, if you are slicing and adding these chorizos to rice like I did, the paprika in the chorizos imparts some nice, aromatic flavor and some beautiful color to your rice. While I agree that you might find better chorizos at a specialty, gourmet deli, those other chorizos also cost a lot more. But the Goya brand chorizos strike a nice balance between taste, texture and affordability, and I recommend them without any hesitation whatsoever!

Spaghetti & Chorizos!
Goya Chorizos are the best! I have been using them for years, but recently I haven't found them in any of my local supermarkets. This was my second or third time ordering them through Amazon, and I must say the whole experience was excellent - from placing the order to receiving the chorizos and having them for dinner with my family! I like to make them in my spaghetti. They were delicious and we all enjoyed them!

Something's off with these.
I've used Goya chorizos as an ingredient in soups and guisos all my life. They're not the best, but they've always been consistent in quality and economical for recipes where I want good chorizo flavor, but don't want to waste the real deal artisan stuff from Spain. These were unlike any Goya Chorizos I had ever had in my life. First thing that threw me was the color and shape. These didn't have the uneven, bumpy appearance of a cured sausage. They were straight, thin and torpedo shaped. Instead of the usual bit of oil in the bag, these were swimming in a bright red, artificial dye-like oil. Again, unlike anything I have ever experienced from a Goya chorizo. I decided to try them out in a guiso de garbanzos. Goya Chorizos are never spectacular, but the texture of these was off. They tasted dry and gritty, even after over an hour of simmering. I did notice that these were shipped from Texas. I don't know if Goya uses regional manufacturers to produce their chorizo, but these were not the same sausages that I've known for over 40 years.

So Glad I Found These!
I was unable to find these in our local stores living in the Midwest. I thought I'd give Amazon a try and there they were! These are delicious in flavor and just the right size. Now I can cook our favorite dishes and not skimp on flavor and traditional cooking. Love em!

The Goya are the best Chorizo and taste great, in my opinion. I used them to make Spanish potato and kale soup and it turned out delicious like my mother-in-law used to make. They taste much better and are harder than the U.S. Southwestern versions of chorizo. I'm from N.Y. and used qet them from a N.J. Importer.

Price high for 8 sausages
Iโve been buying Goya for years in Tampa. When I moved to Inverness this product not readily available. I ordered from Amazon and when received I truly felt gyped. $19 for 8 sausages. You do the math!
