These dryer balls really help
My Maytag washing machine collects black funky stuff in the fabric softener dispenser and when it builds up in there, it comes out on the clothes. It's a pain to remove the dispenser and clean it out all the time so I only use fabric softener every other load now. Saves me from cleaning the dispenser as often. This is my second time purchasing these dryer balls.

Quality
I have purchased several dryer balls over the last few years. I have to say I like these the best and they do not seem to get as much lint on them as some of the others.

Great natural alternative, pleasantly surprised
15+ years ago I purchased a set of plastic/rubber laundry balls. They've happily bounced daily in my dryer since the day I bought them (I do a load almost every day, I don't wait for soiled clothing to pile up). The balls help to move the clothes more evenly throughout the drying process, and I eliminated the expense/need of fabric softener (environmentally friendly and saving a LOT of $$). Last week one of my balls cracked and started to break, so I went online to look for a new set. I was so surprised when I learned that wool balls were essentially replacing the rubber/silicone balls. My dilemma was which replacement set to buy. I took a chance ordering this set, based on the reviews and cost. They arrived in 2 days (prime shipping) & I immediately dropped some essential oils into the padding and tossed them into the dryer overnight (thinking they'd soak into the wool). That was unrealistic and anyone who "knows" wool will laugh at my naivete (ok, I foolishly díd what one reviewer recommended, without success). Wool DOESN'T absorb. I won't add essential oils to them again, but the experience made me realize one thing... these balls also won't absorb laundry odor, so I anticipate I'll be quite content with them. Now to share more of my experience, I only put 3 of them in my dryer. I have a HIGH capacity washer & dryer set, so my daily loads are large & even with my 2 (old rubber) balls, I'd take 65 min to dry a load completely. Using these new wool balls, I'm gradually reducing the time it takes to dry a full load (I'd started at 60 minutes & am down to 45-I will continue to decrease it, to determine the best time & update this review, later). So far, I'm pleased with my purchase. I haven't found stray wool threads in my laundry, and the clothes have NOT come out with any strange smells (was actually worried initially, I hate the smell of wet wool). A thumb's up for this mom!

Fewer wrinkles and keeps bedsheets from wadding up in dryer
No dryer sheets needed. Very good quality. Surprised at how well these wool dryer balls work. No static. 2 balls in the dryer for regular loads reduce wrinkles and helps keep clothes from wrapping around each other. 3-4 balls in dryer for multiple bedsheets/blankets. The muffled drum sound as they bounce around in the dryer is kind of relaxing. Great gift.

Works better than dryer sheets
These dryer balls have been recommended in countless articles recently which rail against dryer sheets for any number of reasons. I bought alpaca wool balls for the dryer in North Carolina 6 years ago and they were getting quite small after years of use.I purchased these to augment the alpaca and am extremely happy with the results! One exception was a fuzzy blanket that still had way too much static electricity in it after drying, but when folded, it was fine! No smell, no residue like some sheets can leave and all natural product. Highly recommend!

Super itchy wool
If your skin is sensitive to wool then this is not for you. Wool is extremely itchy and irritating to my skin, I can not wear wool clothing for this reason. These balls left wool fibers all over my clothes and I was itching all day. At first I couldn’t figure out what was making me itch, I didn’t use any different detergent or fabric softener, or body care products. I thought I was breaking out from an allergic reaction to something, it was pretty bad. So the following day I wore clothes I didn’t dry with these dryer balls and I didn’t itch! Today I put on clothes I dried with the balls and the itching is back, I looked closely at my black leggings and there are wool fibers embedded all over. I’ll have to wash that load over and hope it removes the fibers. While this is a cool concept and most people seem to like it, it’s not for me. I’ll have to return these look for an alternative. These also did not reduce or eliminate static.
