An Unforgettable Fantasy Adventure!
This series of books has the perfect name; Immortality and Chaos. These stories will definitely live forever in the minds and hearts of fantasy fans everywhere and they bring with them a real chaotic flow of emotions (still in shock from it all). I can't tell you how many times during this set of books I found myself holding my breath, quite literally. (May even have turned a nice shade of azure)This series starts off with a bang as the two friends Wulf Rome and Quyloc are sent by King Rix on a mission destined to fail, to fight a massively overwhelming army and are driven into what is possibly the most dangerous piece of land anywhere… The Gur al Krin desert, where searing sands are the least of their troubles. The duo find themselves in the middle of the Krin in a deep place they’d rather not be and just being there might lead to the worst decision ever. Then there is Netra, a young Tender from Rane Haven who is just discovering who she is and how to manage her budding powers. This part of the story has a tidal feel to the emotional tumult throughout, but also has some good action to balance it out. This pentalogy deserves 5 stars, two thumbs up, a fanatics dance of merriment and all the praise I can muster…and a bag of chips (as the cool kids say) It’s blend of action, mayhem, interpersonal connections and raw emotion (had me crying like a baby in its crib) made for a potent cocktail that still has me reeling from the ‘whoa’ effect.I absolutely LOVE the imagery in this book, especially with the creatures. It’s as if they were painted directly into my brain! (don’t worry, it doesn’t hurt) So that goes a long way in transporting you right into the story.Eric T. Knight does something amazing in these books, in that even though you are reading them for the first time it feels like coming back to an old friend you haven’t seen in years and at the same time, packs the wonder and awe of a brand new adventure and all the mystery that entails, making it what I consider to be an instant classic that will endure for generations to come. And that's really just the first book I'm talking about, it gets BETTER!I need to take a minute to talk about the magic system he uses, because it's freakin' awesome and completely unique! As a fantasy fan I have honestly NEVER seen it’s like. Things like Lifesong, Selfsong, Akirma, Flows and going "beyond" have totally blown me away! The way he has taken fantasy and turned it upside down with his use of the above mentioned things is through originality and an obviously bottomless imagination!Eric T. Knight is a literary master Chef, knowing exactly the right ingredients to give you a five course gut busting meal that will leave you both extremely satisfied and wanting more.So between a crazy unique magic system, characters that I feel like I personally know now (don't worry about how many 'real' friends I have) unparalleled action and an amazing sense of humor throughout (seriously I laughed out loud so many times while reading this, I'm pretty sure my family thinks I may be a little psychotic. (my mental health is fine. The voices told me so) you can’t help but love these stories.Knight ends this EPIC 5 pack with Oblivion's Grasp and it is without a doubt the jewel in the crown of the Immortality and Chaos series and that means quite a bit, since I truly adore every page of every book in this set.I've honestly never read a series that can bring to life such realistic and wonderful characters as this one does. In it Eric T. Knight has fashioned heroes that are truly afraid of what could happen but they use that fear to push forward and that lends them a realism that most fantasy stories lack.Grab a copy and I'll see you on the other side of the veil.

Just Great
Read Ace Lone Wolf series by Eric T Wright and was so impressed I wanted to read more by the author. Can't believe I actually read but thoroughly enjoyed this fantasy sci-fi. Going to read the sequel next.

Amazing
I do not usually write reviews for the books that I read. This series was so good that I felt like it needed to be memorized by one. I did read the reviews of people who gave up on it partially of the way through, and I do understand why. These books are not fast paced. You will not gain answers from lingering questions until the very end. Some answers won't be given. I feel like this is the beauty of world building. There definitely are some unknowns that make you question why. Once I finished the series I was able to think back and really piece together all of those things that did not really make sense to the story. I read books all the time and most I just finish and move on to the next. With Immortality and Chaos, I couldn't. I even sat for an hour after I finished telling my fiance a summary of everything I read. I highly recommend this series. Push through the moments that are slow or seem not to be useful. They definitely are and help character growth along the way. Officially now one of my favorite series and will continue to read all of Eric Knights books this year!

A bit of a slow start but it ended up very enjoyable!
I'm glad I stuck with it and got to experience the full story, because I really enjoyed it! In the first book I was having trouble connecting with the two main male characters and I actually stopped reading and went to something else. I decided to come back and keep reading and I'm glad I did. After the first section following the two men, the story switches to a group of women and that section felt long and uneventful. I kept reading and found that the foundation he set in the first book was valuable to the rest of the story.Learning more of the "magics" and different forces at play kept it interesting and unpredictable. I still wonder at the storylines of a few characters that seemed to not quite fit, so I wonder if the author will expand on them in the next series.I didn't feel too much concern for the main characters because of their clear pattern of miraculous survival and escape, but it was still fun to read. It's certainly well worth the $.99 and I look forward to reading the next series.

Good series
Thoroughly enjoyed reading this series. Well thought-out world, characters were well-written and I actually cared what happened to them. The story followed several people and I sometimes got impatient to get back to one, while the story advanced for others. That's my only gripe. I would recommend for mid-teens up. Some of the violence is pretty graphic.

It's David Gemmel Reborn!
What I tend to find is that quite often you just get into a book and it's finished then even with fast paced indie authors you have to wait for the next one. With this Box set a bargain with over 40 plus hours of reading you have a world that rivals the Drenai sagas that David Gemmel made famous and characters you believe that will stand tall for the right reasons. This pentalogy gives such depth , action that you immediatley start the next book straight after you finish the previous. Any book that entices you to keep turning pages and lose yourself in that world is 5 stars, if i could do a deal of the decade then a boxset by such an author would be there. I see that he continues this story albeit from a different viewpoint with some of the same characters in another series off to the next book

A nice surprise
I picked this up based on reader ratings with few expectations apart from it seemingly being something that I might like. The beginning didn’t fill me with hope as it didn’t really grip me and I almost abandoned it. But I persevered. Then there were a couple of times later, when again I almost stopped as it seemed to slacken off a bit and become complex (there are many threads and many characters and just when you think you’ve encountered them all, more are introduced). However, I did become hooked, enjoying the epic scale and imagination of the work: it is pretty much astounding.

Good plot driven fantasy series
I read all five books in ten days, so I must have liked them! The plot is interesting with lots of twists (none of them cheap) and many diverse characters involved. The world building is good, and multilayered although maybe a bit linear as there isn't a single bit of lore introduced that doesn't get used by the narrative. The closest thing to a flaw the series has is in the character development. While some of it is done very well, many of the key principle actors are larger-than-life and taken straight out of a comic book; nothing they do ever has a negative consequence and their relationships never evolve. That's a shame as it holds this excellent series back from being exceptional.

Wonderful, indescribable, immersive and addictive!
I'm so glad others have seen the comparison to Gemmell, Knight's books are easily on a par and have the same enveloping ambiance and complete structure of the world in which they're set. It's very rare indeed that I read a book, or indeed books, that grab hold of my attention and give it a thorough shake while subtly and comprehensively immersing me in such a rich and vibrant fantasy world. I think many others have covered the story in their reviews, this is essentially a classic tale of good vs evil but with such a gritty and realistic take that you, the reader, begin to wonder if the lines between good and evil are actually as rigid and black and white as you thought. The characters and their individual backstories are beautifully detailed and so very relatable, Knight is truly a master of literature and effortlessly paints a vivid picture with his superior literary genius. In closing, for many years I have held three authors in the highest regard, Terry Pratchett, David Gemell and Raymond Feist. These giants of fantasy have never failed to provide me with exquisite comfort and absolute escapism in their work, no matter how hard of a day or how arduous of an ordeal I've been dealt by the unmerciful universe, knowing that their books await me at the end of the day is a comfort beyond all others.I am confident in my summation of his work, to add Erik T Knight to that list, a true gem among fantasy authors, a genuine and down to earth guy (from what I've gathered from my pestering emails to him!) and a true master of his craft. If you love pure fantasy, epic storylines, fantastic and realistic character development: buy this book, buy all of his books, you will not regret it!

i have to admit it started slowly for me and i thought maybe not for me. but i decided to carry on a bit further and all of a sudden i found myself not wanting to stop it was now when i wanted to stop for the night i was saying just a bit more just a little longer. in the end i just couldn't put this exciting series down. what started slowly had turned into an epic read with characters i really cared about and the dire circumstances they found themselves in. all in all a great fantasy with driven characters fight against an implacable enemy. i wont give any of the story away except to say read it you will not be disappointed. Simply Superb
