This book has given me a new view point on ...
This book has given me a new view point on how to advance to blue belt, and a lot of training ideas that I am utilizing. The information from the book indeed does come from a man of experience as I have already seen an improvement in my understanding of the game.

Great purchase for the jitsu
Everyone thinking about starting Jiu Jitsu or any white belt that has recently started the journey should definitely read this book. It was a short read that I smashed in the course of an afternoon. I've read it 3 times since then and have loaned it out to a few folks who have given it back once they received their own copies. Great purchase for the jitsu collection

Not an instructional!
The font is enormous. If they would have printed smaller it would probably fit in a pamphlet. Save some trees people! The information is good but itβs definitely not an instructional book. No pictures of where to place your hands or feet or legs etc. Itβs more of a BJJ philosophy book.

Great starter guide for Jiu-Jitsu Beginners
I was always interested in learning the fundamentals of Jiu-Jitsu and my brother was really into it so he shared this piece with me. I'm totally fascinated. This book explains the basics of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu clearly and easy to understand for a beginner like myself. The book also provides great tips for regular training and workouts, especially cardio based ones and teaches you how to prolong your durability and not get as tired with different breathing techniques and such. Awesome!

Helpful information on starting BJJ, but poorly packaged
This book serves its main purpose well--helping one just starting out as a BJJ practitioner. The author gives some great advice on developing a plan, improving weak areas, and not getting overwhelmed by all there is to learn. However, when the author departs from talking about BJJ and starts trying to give life advice, I feel he gets a little simplistic and glib. A lot of quotes, anecdotes, and ideas without much backing. Furthermore, his sentence structure, grammar, and punctuation are so poor it detracts from his message. I mean, sure, as a professional athlete, writing is probably not his forte. But as an author of a book, I feel he owes his readers (and paying customers) a much more professional presentation. At least hire someone to do the proofreading. Seriously, it looks like he wrote up a first draft then just sent that off to the publishers.Like another reviewer has mentioned, it's also a very short book. Approximately 120 pages with a large font and large margins. Feels like he was trying to stretch the book out.Due to all of the above, I wouldn't say the book is worth the $26.12 I paid for it, but maybe half as much, if that.
