6-Inch x 10-Feet Dust Collection Hose, Flexible Clear Heavy Duty PU Vacuum Hose with Copper Wire Reinforcement

I ordered this to replace the vacuum hose on an agri-fab leaf vacuum / chipper. The original hose had cracks and 2 small holes after 2 uses. It didn't seem like the original hose was uv stable but its drying out / hardening seemed to level off after a few months. It was short for what's needed, it popped off and I accidentally backed over it. That's what lead me to this hose.This hose is a bit sticky to the touch and seems to be uv stable. It feels soft but has held up very well so far. It fits well and the extra length is helpful for my use. No more popping the hose of on tight turns.

I tried three different 6" hoses on my moulder. This was the most expensive. It outlasted the others especially at the high friction bends where where more hardening due to heat and more chip damage occurs.

Full 10' length easily accomplished by stretching (picture attached of hose connected to 10' stick of 6" PVC).However I would not consider this explicitly 'dust collection' hosing since the heavily ribbed interior even on full extension will cause turbulence in demanding applications. Flexible tubing designed specifically for dust collection applications have much smoother interior walls---but are much more expensive. Consider your effective interior diameter around 5.25"-5.5" for calculations as the accurate exterior dimension of 6" gets reduced by the inner ribs. I'm using 5" PVC couplers (5.5" OD) to create dust collection ports on my tools to mate to this hose and then to transition to 6" PVC. Even with a 5" bottleneck in my dust collection system design though, using this hose will offer significant performance increase over the generally suggested 4" flex connections. Construction is solid enough for my application; I can't comment on longevity or the appropriateness of using copper over steel (seems unnecessary in my opinion) or PU over PVC.Good value for the price and will serve my purpose, but be aware of the design shortcomings in case you require a more free-flowing product in your application.

This item was very heavy duty, and much stronger than I anticipated. Great looks, and super transparency and very tough plastic. A great product.

Used it for venting a laser marking machine. It is tough but flexible, we like it for that. Whether you could actually stretch it to 10 feet is another matter. Fortunately we could move the inline blower and only needed about 8 feet.
