Calphalon LX Series Cutlery 5" Santoku

I bought this little knife for my girlfriend, who's "old roommate" used her similar knife as a screwdriver and broke the tip. We've used it for a week and love it. It feels very heavy in hand (in a really good way). It comes out of the box shaving sharp and the grind is spot on. The only thing I would change is the convex of the blade. I wish there was a little more rock to it as I have a tendency to bump my knuckles into the board. My girlfriend doesn't have this issue at all.Overall, very happy with this purchase.

We are vegetarians, and prep tons of veggies and stuff. Have been using the Calphalon Santoku 5" for 5 years now, and I can't do without this in my kitchen. Many people who cook often prefer the 7", but I am an extremely petite person, and so the 5" is just perfect for me. A word of advice, always clean the blade with warm water and soap after every cooking/prepping session, and wipe dry immediately. Never ever put a knife in the dishwasher. Best way to keep the blade shining and sharp.

Beautifully designed knife, with nice attention to detail! Good balance. Holds a good edge. A pleasure to use for light prep work or for cutting fruit or cheese. The Calphalon LX Series line embodies the finest combination of quality, functionality and elegance you will find in this price range. I own the entire line, but this 5" Santoku is the knife I pick up and enjoy using multiple times throughout the day.

Was looking to replace my trusty no-brand 5" santoku that I've had for years.I have quite small hands, and the handle on this Calphalon 5" santoku knife was even slightly too small for me to wrap my fingers comfortably around.The blade cuts okay but isn't anything too impressive. It's fine for the $20 pricetag, but nothing screams "great workmanship" if you're looking for a great deal.

I've become a real fan of Calphalon knives. They seem to take an edge, and keep an edge as well as, or better than Henkels or Wusthof forged knives. This little knife has a really pleasing heft to it, and has become a favorite of my wife, so I got one for my daughter for Christmas. Highly recommended!

Bought this knife for smaller jobs in the kitchen. I find myself using it more than the 7 inch santoku. Slices and cuts perfect. Best knife ive owned.it does have some nice weight to it. Only had it for a month or so, so i dont know how well it will hold up over time. Overall very happy with my purchse.

This knife is great! My favorite part about it is the curved handle. Very comfortable in my hand. Its a great size to slice smaller things like shallots, garlic, limes, etc. Very happy with this knife and will use it for years to come!
