Excellent photographs, I highly recommend tthis book.
The photographs are excellent. No hand drawn illustrations. The book is in two parts. The first part is a historical description of the types of weapons and the second part is photographs of various individual types of knives. All in all an excellent book. I found a couple of what I believe are errors. I do not believe anyone heat blued a blade, it would destroy the heat treat of the blade, it would have been a chemical or electrical process. Also his inclusion of the “Taiwanese butterfly knife” not mentioning the documentation of the butterfly knife first designed in the 18th century in France and its association with the Philippine islands. I highly recommend the volume.

Great visual concise history of knives and bayonets
Great visual concise history of knives and bayonets. Not a lot of history on the evolution of knives but more a visual based aid. And in respect to 20th century knives (both civilian and military) the section is clearly incomplete and it includes a knife from Spanish manufacturer Martinez Albainox, who is highly recognized in Spain for its low quality of construction (mostly from China).

My Husband Loved this Book!
My husband saw this book advertised so I gave it to him for Valentine's Day. He loves it! He is constantly looking at it. He is learning to blacksmith and this gives him great ideas for knives to make.
