Who Was Queen Victoria? (Who Was?) Kindle Edition

I am reading this book with my 9 year old son. We've read more than 15 Who Was/What Was/Where Was books together including Henry the VIII, Queen Elizabeth and Marie Antoinette. We are about 40% of the way through this book and are finding it very difficult to follow. The dates skip around and there are too many dates to keep track of, it would've been easier to follow if the author told is her age along with the dates. One minute Queen Victoria is 18, then in the next paragraph she's a little girl, then she's 18 again and so forth. The author briefly tries to explain the government but most of the explanations need furthur interpreting from me for my son to sort of understand. I feel like the author assumes the reader has some sort of background in British parliment and doesn't help us much with our understanding. The author gives us names/titles of her relatives she is in line behind for the throne but since she's 5th in line, and the story skips around so much, it is difficult to follow who is who. I had to re-read several pages to recall who anyone was and what was going on. It would have been nice if the author reminded us along the way with who was who but I realize that others might not like being spoon fed like that. The description of this book says it's for 3-7 graders so I feel like it should've been written more coherently for that age group. I found the King Henry the VIII, Queen Elizabeth, and Marie Antoinette books much easier to follow and understand.Update: we finished the book. It was a very dry read and probably the most boring of the Who Was books we read so far. The book doesn't go into much detail at all about what makes the Victorian Era so special. It briefly touches on a few things such as the telephone but we werent at all satisfied with that as a reason Queen Victoria is so memorable out of all the kings and queens in history. As other reviewers have said, the author only had positive opinions if Victoria, surely she wasnt loved by all such as the Irish who were going to through a famine at the time. I'm disappointed and feel we could've learned more reading a wikipedia page.

My girls (11 & 13) absolutely love these books and was excited to add this one to their growing collection.

Great for Middle Aged readers and leaves them with a. Good introduction to Victoria so they can ask further questions and learn more when they get older

These are great books for kids to learn about famous people in history. I bought this book and others in the series for my grand daughter to read before we went to England. The knowledge she gained greatly enhanced her trip.

This is a great book. You can really understand the life of the Queen Victoria. I learned a lot about history by “The Who Was/is” series.

The book is very poor quality. I thought it might be a poor copy of the original book!
