Make sure to gently put it. In the key place, put it. If it didn't fit, change it's direction and it will fit. You use it as a push start button but it is not a push, it should be turned like any key to start the car. **Q: Needs programming?** A: Coming from a Speed6 owner, the knob requires no programming. It's just a knob to turn the ignition. Speed6 has a keyless entry card, so as long as it's on you, it just turns. If you don't have the key card, or if the battery in the keycard is dead, or if the keycard is boned, you'll need to pop this out and use the actual key (stored in the keycard) to start the car. Can't be too sure about other Mazda models and keyfobs, but as it stands, this is just a knob, regardless. **Q: Could this fit on a 2008 MX-5 Miata which uses basically the same kind of configuration?** A: Yes!
