Accompanying audio download is no longer available.
The book seems ok EXCEPT all throughout lit tells you to reference the audio that you download. Well the learntoplaymusic.com is a empty domain. That should be mentioned in the description, I would not have purchased it.

Misleading Picture of the Book
One of the reasons I bought the paper book rather than the eBook was that it's picture shows that it includes a DVD and a CD. The book I actually received does not. On it's cover it says free online video and audio.I wanted to have the DVD and CD so that I was not dependent on having to download something. But it's not even a download - now I have to have my computer up and connected to the internet in order to watch the video or listen to the audio.Very disappointing.

Great Book for Beginners
This was a great book for me learning the saxophone for the first time in my thirties, as you learn the notes you also learn how to read music at the same time plus you get digital examples of each lesson you learn online

Basic Saxophone Instruction
Got it for my Kindle and I can't magnify anything (unlock the screen and rotate and print does get a little bigger)Basic saxophone instruction and audio files can only be accessed through Internet (would be nice to be able to download)

Not the best move to make
I finished my degree recently and decided that I wanted to learn the Saxophone. I have played the piano and had over 10 years on the Clarinet so I knew that switching to the sax shouldn't be a problem.Should I get a teacher and have to pay £20/hr when I've just finished uni and moved back home and trying to save money?? Not the best move to make. I know basic music theory and how to read music, so I felt that all I needed was a method book to teach me the instrument so I could learn in the comfort of my own home and at my own rate without having to pay a teacher (and possibly TRAVEL to lessons) and do 'homework' (like a kid). So scouring the internet, I found this book on Amazon and ordered it. All I can say is that it ABSOLUTELY delivered what I expected. The book is written with the assumption that the reader has had no experience in playing the saxophone or reading music. So it comes in a step-by-step lesson plan, with separate notes introduced. It teaching everything concerning music theory for the saxophone-how to read music, articulation etc. The objective is that upon completion of the book, you should be in a position to improvise and play along with other musicians. The book comes with a CD and a DVD. All you need really is your PC, a pair of headphones and the willingness to spend about an hour each day and before you know it, you'll be rocking on your sax!! I would strongly recommend this book to anyone who wants to teach themselves to play the saxophone. You don't need a teacher with this book!

Great book for Saxophone Beginners!
Another great book from the Progressive series of Koala Music Publications. Really missing the DVD video format for the exercises. Great book to embark yourself into the complex learning of Alto or Tenor saxophone. Recommended for beginners!

Saxology
Fantastic book. The DVD is an incredible learning and play-along tool. The practice pieces are progressive in difficulty and have interesting melodies in their own right. The DVD has a split screen, the left side has a close-up of the keys being played, the right side has an animated example of the keys being played. At the bottom of the screen is the music, with a cursor that moves across each note as it is being played. I wish they had a similar DVD with all music books. Sadly the next book in the series does not have a DVD.

Wish I'd bought paperback
The book itself is probably fine.I bought the kindle version, seems unintuitive in kindle format, need a book on my music stand so I can flip through pages easily ,and of course it's bigger print in book form..live and learn!
