Travel approved!
Great for travel! I'm away a lot for work and hated not being able to do yoga while away, so this was a good solution. Don't expect the same grip as a real yoga mat, but it does the job when you're on the road and can't pack a separate yoga bag.

Perfect as a shower mat for diabetic neuropathy
I bought this large mircofiber towel for a unique medical purpose. I've been looking for quite some time for something to use as a shower mat for my husband who has severe diabetic neuropathy. It is extremely uncomfortable and almost painful for him to shower in our long ADA "walk-in shower" with mosaic tiles on the floor. He describes the feeling as being at the threshold of pain. We've tried many types of standard bath mats and they do nothing to improve the situation. It is the hard texture that his feet react to so painfully. It occurred to me that microfiber, when wet, does not budge when placed on a slick surface and it feels very soft and velvety despite it being very thin.First, we tried just a plain large (24” by 48”) microfiber towel as a bath mat in the shower and it actually worked wonderfully! It stays put despite the shower water coming down all around and over it. But it wasn’t long enough for our huge walk-in ADA shower. When I saw this Yoga towel microfiber mat was a huge 74” by 26” and that it had silicon non-slip “feet” on the bottom, I had to give it a try. I was concerned that the silicon bumps might cause him pain. Fortunately, they did not. The Yoga towel worked splendidly and fit the large shower floor area perfectly. It is a little more difficult to dry because it is harder to wring out the towel with all its silicon feet. Now, we don’t even try to wring it out. After each shower, we just hangs it over the handicapped railings and it dries by the end of the day.My husband says these microfiber towels make a big difference. Despite the fact that these towels provides no cushion, they do provide a velvety surface texture and that is what his feet require.I'm sure the manufacturer never thought it would be used for this purpose. This towel has been exactly what we needed. I'm so glad I thought of it and gave my idea a try. It worked. I hope my review might also help others with similar problems.

excellent grip but hard on the hands and feet
I ended up returning this item. As several other reviewers have pointed out it was very rough to the touch. I washed it after the first use hoping it would soften up but it did not. I will say it did not slip or bunch up as so many mat towels do. I just found it too rough on my hands and feet.

Excellent mat towel for powerful flow hot yoga, even better customer service!
I've been practicing hot yoga for many years in both Bikram and Babtiste studios, so I've tried a lot of mat towels and towel/mat combos. I've never found the perfect mat towel for Babtiste, but this one is excellent. Babtiste is a powerful flow yoga over a wood floor, so a combo mat/towel would slip, therefore you need a sticky rubber mat and a separate mat towel like this one. This one stands apart from other similar mat towels by the larger size and modest cost. The larger size is important if you use the 26" wide professional mats, and/or if you sweat a lot like I do and need the extra surface area to absorb more sweat. Like others it has silicone dots on the underside to reduce slipping between it and the mat, but also like the others if you ever drag your feet at all during flow, the mat towel will definitely move. This one has a slightly rougher surface than competitor mat towels, so your feet slip less on the sweaty surface than with the others. Now for my customer service comment. My first Thrive on Wellness mat towel worked great but the log was somewhat crooked. I emailed the company with a photo just to let them know they had a slight QC problem, and they immediately sent me a new towel via priority shipping. The hand written note with the new towel thanked me and said that my input "helps us learn and improve." WOW!

that fragrance stuff is really not good to breathe in
Really had a strong odor, so I soaked in the "unstoppables" fragrance you add to the wash. That being said, that fragrance stuff is really not good to breathe in, likewise I would think with the strong plastic/rubber odor this towel gave off. Long story, air it out alot, then you will be satisfied.

Stays in place. Good towel
I am new to yoga not to mention hot yoga. After my second class I searched amazon and read the reviews of a lot of yoga towels. I went to class and I paid attention to the towels of the other students. Most of them just outline their mat, others are a little shorter. Some had silicon dots, some didn't. Most of them have curled corners and move under their feet during class. After a couple of weeks of observing I decided to buy this towel. This towel goes a little over the top and bottom edge of my mat and stays in place. I do not have to spray it with water. It washes well. I wash with Dr. Bronners Sal suds on delicate cycle and hang it to dry. I have already recommend this towel to a friend and would recommend it to you. I hope this review helps you as much as all the other reviews helped me decide.

good towel
I was hesitant to buy this one as there are tons of low quality reviews here that received the product in exchange for a review. However, I did buy this and I now prefer it to my yogitoes (which is now my second favorite mat towl). It is longer and covers my 24"x72" yoga mat completely which keeps it in place even better. The yogitoes is 68" and doesn't quite cover a 72" mat. The yogitoes also costs more. I feel the quality of the towel materials between the two is similar.I also own one of the cheaper AngelBeauty non-skid towels. It is third as the material is more slippery and the non-skid dots are harder and much less comfortable. It feels lower quality than the yogitoes and the Thrive on Wellness towel. However, it is still easily worth the $12 they are charging.Last on my non-skid towel list is the Gaiam grippy towel. It is way too thick and short at 68".
