Algebrator 5.1

I bought Algebrator because I needed something to help my kids with Algebra. I talked to other parents and one of them recommended that I buy Algebrator, so I decided to give it a try.What I liked about Algebrator is the fact that one can enter just about any problem and Algebrator will provide step-by-step solutions to it. If you don't understand how a step was made, you can click on "Explain". It is very much like having a 24/7 Math tutor at home!I almost bought Algebra I for Dummies, but then I thought: do I really want to make my kids feel like they are dummies in Mathematics? No way!As a mother, this program has been great. And my kids liked Algebrator so much that they are using it by themselves, so I don't need to spend much time helping them; they have grown independent in a way.I happen to write too much when I love a product; I hope this will be helpful for someone who is hesitant about buying Algebrator. You'll love it!

This a OK program. It has some very nice features such as plotting a circle given three points on the perimeter. However, it is unable to correctly an equation x^3 = 1, x^4 =1, x^3 = -1, x^4 = -1; it only gives the real roots and this is the simplest polynomial equation. The software has a long way to catch up to Studyworks! However, for the price it is a good start. Write a more powerful software program similar to SW! and charge more - that program would really be useful to students.Dr. Edward [email protected]

This math software is easy to use and is/has been a huge help in my college math classes. There are a few tweaks I'd like to see.... ex. an option to make the "explain" show a more detailed explanation when needed and an option to specify how you need the end result of your formula to show (whether fraction, decimal, simplified, etc....) rather than the software assuming - so if/when needed, I can use the "explain" to understand how to get the specific result needed. Just a couple of thoughts.... otherwise, I am VERY happy with this software.

I'm not to sure how I feel about this product at this point. I have used it a couple of times trying to validate or detail some Algebra problems from my Khan Academy self study program and haven't had much success. Mainly my problems have been trying to use your symbols for formulas which I am clumsy at doing and I haven't found your documentation two helpful but that may have to do with my unfamiliarity with the program and its help system.

This program is okay but it has some limitations that pose problems when one is trying to input equations. It won't allow you to do some things which you may need to do as it pertains to homework assignments, therefore you will not be able to use this program for some things. Bummer

I thought this program would have its own work sheets or practice problems. It doesn't. You type in your own problems and it solves them. It shows you step by step "it's process". Got this for my daughter and she says she likes the way it shows how to do the problems.

Being a visual learner,I find the level of answer detail from each program overwhelming.On the upside is I am allowed to adjust the level of detail with a simple click of a mouse. Additionally, I appreciate the user interface. I also enjoy being able to type the problems from the text book to the work sheet have a complete breakdown of the problem, step by step, with a click of the mouse. This program has made understanding the fundamental steps in algebra much easier to digest. I would recommend this program to anyone who needs a visual step by step guide for solving math problems....

It is okay. I could have saved money and just used algebra calculators that I found online that did the same thing if not more than this program.
