The media could not be loaded.  I was taking my boys to our annual camping trip, joined by some other families, so I purchased this Kalimba to keep them entertained. It’s a really nicely made product and they were immediately interested in learning how to play it. My favorite part is the pretty design engraved in it, as you can see in the photos. My next favorite part is that the sounds it makes are so pleasant and soothing, so it isn’t bothersome when the kids are practicing it! Surprisingly, the adults enjoyed it just as much around the campfire. Overall, great buy!

I had never seen one before, and had no idea how it is supposed to be used. I have had it for several days and am delighted. I ended up putting drops of paint on the metal keys indicating the tone. Playing one note at a time, it is reasonably easy to pick out most tunes. My instrument is in the key of C. I miss a B flat terribly. My kalimba was mostly in tune when it arrived, but in any case, is easy to tune. The sound is more pleasant than I would have imagined. It is so easy to play with, and to come up with some lovely sounds that I tend to grab it unconsciously and fool around with it. I desperately need lessons, however, and have taken some steps to find a teacher. Two or more of these would be excellent gifts for a family. Children and adults can have lots of fun co-operating musically, with each person playing his/her own instrument. It is loud enough to be heard in one room, but probably not more than that. There are "sound boxes," but are not necessary for solo or ensemble work. It's pretty. It's easy enough. It's lightweight. It has a pleasant sound. Excellent purchase.

It is made with quality craftsmanship and the sound is rich and beautiful, once it's tuned properly. The tuning app works great, but it can take a very light hand to adjust the pitch of the keys so start with very light taps when tuning.There is also options for how to play, you can either play just the melody a note at a time (like finger picking with a guitar) or with cords that harmonize with singing, so keep an eye out for those differences when looking for sheet music. As someone who plays other instruments, the hardest part for me was remembering to read the k'tabs (sheet music that is laid out as your keys are arranged) from the bottom up. Trust me, it does not sound at all like the right song when you play it backwards. There is also very simple music out there to find, online or in some of the books I've seen on amazon, so it really is good for everyone, especially this model as the notes are etched into the keys, without detracting from its beauty.I would definitely recommend both this model and this seller, it arrived before it was expected and I just love it!

The media could not be loaded.  I purchased this instrument a year ago as a birthday gift to myself and I'm pleasantly surprised how well it held up over time! I haven't played a lot when I first purchased it due to school and work but since being in quarantine, I was able to pick up the kalimba and practice again. I love the sounds the instrument produces and I love how easily portable it is. It's an easy instrument to play and a great relaxing activity after a long day. I highly recommend getting this!

Easy to learn, sounds great but it might rust. We havnt had any water on it but this rust like substance is on the metal

I bought this Kalimba thumb piano as a gift for my son. He is so hard to buy for but he likes music so when I came across this cool thumb piano I had to get it. I just received it and I am so impressed with the quality of this product. It is a really nice piece that comes with an instruction booklet, cleaning cloth and tuning hammer. The mahogany wood is beautiful and the sound is great. My son is going to love this!

I was looking for something to purchase for my girls to play with that they would be challenged and interested in and I found it right here, this Timbertunes Kalimba Thumb Piano is the best! My daughters have not stopped playing with it and are taking the time to learn how to use it. The booklet that is included is very helpful and teaches how to use the piano and includes a few bonus songs. The sounds are just perfect on the Kalimba. I will never get tired of my children playing because the sounds are soothing. The thumb piano itself is great quality! It includes a tuning tool, cleaning cloth, and a user's booklet. What a great way for our children and adults to use their thumbs besides video games or texting on their phones.

I'm really enjoying this kalimba. I watched several YouTube videos featuring Cega kalimbas, and I really liked the sound. Unfortunately, if you search Amazon for cega kalimba nothing comes up. I found it by looking through every kalimba in this price range and searching the images for the cega name. This instrument has a very nice mellow tone. It's very easy to learn. It came well-packaged. The only problem I had with it was that it was not really in tune. The suggested tuning app did not work well for me. So, I would suggest searching several different apps. The instruction booklet suggest using g-strings. I found that using the Universal Tuner app and the G-string app worked best together. The only complaint that I would have is that the tuning hammer is too wide to strike the tines individually. I wound up using the handle end of the hammer, which worked just fine.
