I purchased this seat even though someone gave it a poor rating because it took a long time to install. It took me 5 minutes tops, I used a rechargable 3/8 impact wrench to get it close, then a wrench. You also could use a 3/8" socket with extension. It actually took longer to take off the old seat. The finish was smooth and shiny, not quite high gloss but nicely done. The attachment seems sturdy and the plastic covers for the seat bolts seem secure. I like that it is adjustable to allow it to be centered on the bowl. I've had it about a month and no problems. in fact, I am ordering another for another bathroom.

Great toilet seat! Screws that came with the toilet were easy to install and are very sturdy. I’ve had this toilet seat for about a month and it’s still just as tight and sturdy as when it was first installed. I really like this toilet seat, but it was not nearly as easy to install as most toilet seats, although it's true that you definitely can install it standing up. I'm not used to needing to use a wrench to install a toilet seat (my husband had to help with that part, and I've never had to have help to install a toilet seat). That being said, I really think this seat will stay put and not slide around like a lot of others, so the trouble I had installing it will have been totally worth it if that is true. I wanted something that would stay put. This really does seem sturdy. Also, I have an older toilet, and the round seat fits so perfectly. The price was also good (and it looks nice), which is why I decided to try this instead of the usual toilet seat I've bought for years. If you are looking for a toilet seat that will stay put, and you have a wrench, this toilet seat is worth a try!

How does a toilet seat save my life, you ask? Hear me out. I previously installed two different toilet seats. Each one shakier than the last. I shrugged it off, decided there was no hope for it, and moved on with my life. Until...until that fateful night. I was having some wine while glued to my latest Netflix binge. I REALLY needed to pee, but the current episode was action-packed and riveting. You know; you've been there. Finally! The episode ended, and I raced to the bathroom. I hurriedly plopped my fata** onto the toilet, barely making it. In my haste, I forgot that my very loose toilet seat canted slightly to the left as you sit. So, here I was, mid-stream, slightly left of center on my pot, and, "SNAP!" The right-side hing broke. The entire right side of the seat popped up, violently, and propelled me straight into the 18-inch space between my toilet and my wall. (Well, there's no way I was fitting into that space, so I ended up with half of a left buttock, full left arm, and left shoulder, jammed into that impossible space.)Meanwhile, spirals of tissue were gently landing all around me. You see, on the way down, I took my metal (freestanding) tissue holder with me. As I grabbed it, it ricocheted against the tub, causing a sound like a rifle shot. Which caused me to fling it away in fear. Which caused three rolls of toilet tissue to go airborne. I lay crumpled in the position of a pretzel, trying to comprehend what just happened. My heart was thumping so hard in my chest, I thought I was having a heart attack. Which made my heart race even more. OMG! What if my family finds me like this, but, unconscious? They'll call 911. Oh no. OH NO! I can't tell you how small my town is. I couldn't let that happen. After much grunting, pushing, and further breaking the toilet seat, which kept flap, flap, flapping against my right thigh every time I moved, I managed to haul myself out of that toddler-sized hole. After considerable cleaning, applying ice, and tripling my efforts to drink wine; I decided that a) I need a new toilet seat, and b) I needed a "special" toilet seat. You know, one that could take a few *cough* extra pounds.This, my friends, is the jackpot of fata** toilet seats! It is LOCKED DOWN, like Ft. Knox! Bonus...it's hella cheaper than the Life Alert Panic Button.

I like the sturdy feel of wood toilet seats, but I had trouble finding one that wouldn't loosen from the toilet over time. So far the metal fasteners on this seat have stayed firmly in place. The "slow drop" lid is a nice bonus.

Very happy to find this simple, but sturdy seat in colors that I need. Local stores either don't carry this, or it's only in white. I don't care for plastic seats or ones with fancy features. This one is plain and simple, looks nice, and is comfortable.

I love everything about the seat, except the plastic bolts/screws. I positioned the seat as instructed, and tightened the screws/bolts as specified. I noticed that over time, it keeps on shifting from the center to one side. I can readjust but it will slowly shift off center again.

Would have given it an overall 5 star but for the fact it arrived with a small cracked spot on the cover. Since the damage is cosmetic and does not affect the usage, I didn't bother to return/exchange. The color and size are perfect for our toilet.
