Great Pumpkin Scooping Tool!
I bought this a few years ago after a frustrating Halloween using the cheap plastic scrapers to clean out the insides of our pumpkins. You probably know the ones, they come with those cheap carving tools that also usually fall apart after one use, or even before you finish. Those little plastic scrapers work ok, but they aren't nearly as good as this little gem! I posted pictures of the scooper tool and the inside of one of our scraped out pumpkin about to become a Halloween decoration. So clean and so easy! We open the top of our pumpkins with a large knife, cut off the bottom of the top part and start digging in with our hands, collecting pumpkin seeds. Once we have most of the seeds removed we pull out some of the larger chunks of fleshy bits by hand, then go in with this scoop/scraper tool! With only a few passes and minimal time this cleans all that gunk out of the inside of the pumpkin and preps it for carving. An added bonus is that it will also thin the walls really quickly if you have a thicker pumpkin and you're having a hard time cutting all the way through. Just a few scrapes, usually we do this from bottom to top on the side that's being carved. You get these nice shredded ribbons of pumpkin flesh that fall to the bottom of the pumpkin, that you can then easily scoop out with the same scooping tool. Then let the carving begin!Another point I will mention is that I am right handed and this works great, but my husband is left handed and he also thinks this scoop is the best! I have seen other tools that say that it doesn't work well if you are left handed, and yes the serrations are placed for right handed use, but it still works great for a lefty. Though I am not sure why it isn't serrated all the way around.Anyway, this is great! We have used it for 2 Halloween Holidays thus far and it's not showing any signs of wear, as you can see in the pictures. I thought that the metal might be weak or flimsy, but we scrape and scrape with this and it works great everytime! We do hold it up close to the metal part and not back on the handle very far for stability, also if you have a small pumpkin, this might not fit inside since it is rather long. I highly recommend this for your pumpkin carving!

The Perfect Pumpkin Deluxe Pumpkin Scoop
I bought this pumpkin scoop to use with butternut squash. It is sturdy, works very well, and it’s easy to use. I just used it for the first time yesterday, so I don’t know about it’s durability. So far I’m happy with this purchase. Also, it arrived very fast.

Good little scooper
The only problem is when you clean it in the dishwasher, the handle collects water. Otherwise, a good scooper and cleans out seeds well.

Perfect for removing seeds from pumpkins and large squash
I was looking for an easy way to remove seeds from squash before roasting. Was worried this wouldn’t be big or strong enough but it’s almost too big for certain squashes (it’s made for a pumpkin after all). It’s got a serrated edge around the top curved part of the spoon that is sharp enough to properly scrape out seeds but not so sharp you could hurt yourself if you touch it accidentally. Good value too!

Works great on pumpkins, canteloupe, etc
Every fall when sugar pie pumpkins hit the grocery store, I make the Afghan dish kadu. This year I was armed with this pumpkin scoop, and it was SO much nicer than using a sharp-edged spoon (they're never sharp enough) or a melon baller (which are so small it takes way too long). I will never go back to using a melon baller for this task.

It works great for scooping the seeds/innards from butternut squash.
The size was just right. Is durable and the orange handle makes it easy to find in the drawer.

However I find it a useful kitchen took as long as I hold the base ...
The scraping part of this utensil works well for pumpkins and squash. However the handle is not strong. It's not too difficult to simply hold the base of the scraping spoon with the hand vs trying to use the handle. Because scraping pumpkins and squash takes some force you need a stronger way to hold this device than handle provided. However I find it a useful kitchen took as long as I hold the base of the spoon scraper with my hand.
