Exciting Plot, But….
I love this series by Lisa Scottoline, and I know this is one of the earlier ones which may account for the over use of the F-word throughout. It was good, but I didn’t enjoy it as much as later books in the series.

Dated but entertaining
This is one of the very first Rosato and Associate s novels, but moves right along with a truly horrible villain.

There need to be 10 stars available.
However! Do NOT begin this book if you need your rest for any reason! Because you are going to be awake for as many hours as it takes to race through to the ending! I've said it before and I'm saying it again...I want Lisa Scottoline to be my lawyer if ever I need one. Period. ENJOY!

Why?
I basically liked the book. My question was why? Why would this wealthy man do what they say he did. Won'tget into anymore. The one thing I didn't like, was things that happened to one lady. Even though this is a book, these things were hard to digest. Other then that, I liked trying to figure out the motif.

Contradictory details
So much happening in a 24 hour period, and some of the details -- mainly the weather -- didn't jive. This was supposedly set during a blizzard after 4:00 on in a weekday. In winter months in Philly, it would have been dark by 5:00, which means some of the scenes wouldn't have worked as described. At times, it seems that the storm has passed, but then there are more references to snow falling.I wondered at the one character 's death: why bring her into the story just to kill her off? but it made for a tidy ending.Fast paced, and sets the stage for another story to follow without being a despised cliffhanger.

Wide Star range and I don't know why ...
I just completed my 5th Rosato & Associates book and I am absolutely hooked! I've been a thriller reader for several years now and, unfortunately, most of my favorite authors have either died or stopped writing for other reasons. I keep trying new names with decent reviews but I'm usually disappointed because most of the new names don't seem to know how tell a great story without a huge amount of needless complexity and meaningless plots. Not here!Lisa Scottoline is the most concise author I've ever experienced. Her characters are described in a colorful and concise manner that is very special. You rapidly become attached to them and thoroughly enjoy their successes and predicaments. There is always great and meaningful humor in her stories.I hope she will keep Rosato & Associates alive in the future! I promise to read every single one!Try this author! She will probably win you over too!

An Easy One Day Read
I do enjoy Scottoline, and I particularly liked Marta in this book. A good, fast-paced book that took less than a day to read .... Bennie and Judy and Mary are like old friends that are entertaining to meet up with once again. Deep, complex fiction? No, but a fun way to pass a cold, cloudy day.

Not Rough
Nothing rough about Rough Justice. Scottoline deftly unfolds a mystery, does some character development of her permanent lawyers, and brings in a new one, whose transformation is the spine of the story as much as the mystery. Nice suspense, and nasty villains. Plus her usual clever humor. And of course, Philadelphia. Smooth as sculling on the Schuylkill...
