Straight Blade for de Buyer La Mandoline

Way over priced for this simple blade and plastic, sort of held hostage because my mandolin requires the blade. Don’t get me wrong it functions well, but given the cheap plastic and blade it will not be long before I need another.

I’ve had my de Buyer for several years and it’s a real work horse. My last use with the original blade, I was basically tearing veggies rather than slicing them. I replaced the blade and then marveled at how easily this cuts through even tough eggplant skins. I really should have replaced that blade much sooner!The product is quality and authentic. The pricing is a bit higher here than elsewhere, but it was worth it to have it in two days rather than two weeks. But two instead of one, that way you’re never going to be caught unprepared when you child begs you to make ratatouille… exactly as it was made in the movie.
