I am a long time customer at Amazon and this is my very first review! I ordered this for my son's "sports themed room" after weeks of searching. I hate it when people rate a product poorly because of shipping, so I must say it's a very nice locker, very tall and seemingly spacious - and my son absolutely loved the looks of it when we opened the box so I gave it 4 stars out of fairness. HOWEVER, I wish there were previous reviews on this product to steer me away from ordering it and saving me a lot of wasted time, so let me be the one to warn you: Do not order this because it is shipped in a cardboard box with NO protection at all (repeat, NONE) and it will not survive the shipping process. My first delivery arrived and the locker was smashed and dented in on the top, bottom and sides. Amazon sent UPS to pick it up and sent a replacement after I discussed with them the poor packaging so I was hopeful the replacement would have SOME kind of protection. The second locker arrived in 3 days, and again NO PROTECTION at all except 2 small wood blocks on the legs (I'm not joking) which actually made it worse instead of better! The locker was banged up and dented all over the place, and the wood blocks made the legs bend beyond belief. This time we asked the UPS delivery guy to wait while we opened the box and after seeing the shape it was in I just refused delivery. It's a shame that a few strategically-placed pieces of styrofoam is all that's needed but Amazon did not care. My son is heartbroken and I am on the hunt for a similar product that will arrive in good condition -- and not require assembly. *sigh*

I was lucky enough to score a Warehouse Deal on one of these for a price that was less than the freight alone to ship the unit, so my review may be a little "biased". This is not really a "heavy duty" locker by any means, but more of a "medium-light duty. The walls/doors of the locker are thick and rigid enough to hold anything you might want to keep in here, but a good impact to a large, flat portion of the metal WILL result in a ding or dent.That said, I use mine as a storage unit for gardening products (in conjunction with a couple "locker shelves") and it serves me quite well for that purpose. I have both the (original) metal and (non-stock, aftermarket) plastic shelves loaded with approximately 25 pounds each, bottom to top, with the locker NOT bolted down, but simply free-standing, and it is solid-feeling and steady.I did not need to assemble mine, so I cannot comment on ease or difficulty of assembly.
