The bo and sai are two of the oldest traditional Karate weapons. On the Isshinryu Weapon Kata: Bo and Sai DVD, Sensei Mike Reeves teaches you five Isshinryu Kata, three for the bo, one for the sai plus a two person bo set to practice your offense and defense skills. Each kata is filmed from the front, side, rear and overhead, so you can clearly see each movement and follow along. In addition to demonstrating from multiple angles, Sensei Reeves explains how to perform the movements and gives tips on properly handling the bo and sai. Learn the following katas: * Tokumine-No-Kun (bo) * Urashi-Bo (bo) * Shishi-No-Kun (bo) * Bo Kumite (two person bo set) * Kusan-Ku-Sai (sai) Whether you practice Isshinryu or want to add weapons kata to your training, this DVD is an excellent way to learn the kata of the bo and sai.

Interesting
My children have been in Shotokan for years. They used to compete and have done really well. (Championship in the Legue for Bo Kata). They have since stopped. I love watching my son on YouTube; and I miss going to tournaments. So seeing this tape reminds me how much fun we had in the past. Mike Reeves is fun to watch, and I learned alot. However, I still was not able to convince my children to return to martial arts. So was my 'fix.'

Isshinryu done right!
If you are into Isshinryu Karate, you need to learn from someone who learned in Okinawa in the house it originated. Mike Reeves is just the person for the Job! Great way to learn the weapons Katas at home. Please make sure you move the lamp to avoid my accident!

Not worth the investment
Needs to have a section where the kata’s are done slow and from different angles

This has made me want to return to Isshinryu, and triggered fond memories of the late Volker Sensei...

Three Stars
It would be great if you already know the basics, but it goes too fast for a beginner.
