CobraCo Copper Mission Fire Pit FBCOPMISN-C

Call me different, but I didn't want to hassle having to build a fire every time I wanted to use the Fire Pit, then worry about tending and stoking the fire, then putting it out, then cleanup afterwards, etc. Solution: I already had another item from Amazon, the "Big Red Campfire" Propane Camp Fire that works with a standard 20 gal. propane tank: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00G258GPI/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1. So I drilled a 1" hole in the Fire Pit copper bowl (to accommodate the Big Red hookup line going from the propane tank to the Big Red unit), filed the edges so all were smooth (total 10 minutes, if you have the right gear) put the Big Red Campfire inside the Fire Pit, hooked up the propane line to the Big Red, other end to the propane tank and done deal !! Now I can light a fire anytime in less than 5 seconds, burn as long or as short as I want, and turning it off in less than 5 seconds - no clean up or mess. Even better, you don't have to keep the mesh lid on during burning because there are no worries about burning bits of wood floating or popping out. Last night, around 11 pm I wondered out to the back yard and decided to enjoy a fire in the Fire Pit while I sat in a camp chair. Cranked the propane value with one hand and my other hand held a sparker gas appliance igniter (also bought on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000EDSTAG/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ) - a second later - poof; instant blazing fire. Try it and you will never go back to the mess and trouble of a regular Fire Pit again!

I just put the fire pit together and haven't used it yet. It looks really nice but the screw holes in the legs don't all line up with the screw holes in the frame. I'm going to need to file out one of the holes to make the last screw fit. Furthermore, the nuts that are welded into the legs are at weird angles so they basically fit, but not well. Kind of "first day on the job" welding. This was an expensive fire pit, as they go, and I was thinking that it would be really well put together. It's not bad enough to send back, but I will if the legs fall off, as another reviewer mentioned.

This is a beautiful fire pit and I am very happy with my choice after researching countless others. It is definitely not your run-of-the-mill and too typical fire pit. Others have complained about the discoloration after use but I think the solid copper bowl has gained uniqueness and character with the raku-like flashing of color. The reason I did not give it five stars is that the three pins for holding a grate that are shown in some of the Amazon product views are absent.

After reading the reviews, I decided to purchase this firepit. It was delivered promptly with minimal defects (the hood was slightly warped upon delivery but was beautiful nonetheless). The copper pit and stand were well manufactured.Assembly was easy and straightforward. Aligning the machine screws are not a problem as long as you align the screws peuoe to tighteningI read the reviews relative to the complaints of rust. Prior to the first fire, I treated the stand and hood with Rustoleum high temperature black spray paint. Four fires and several rain storms later, no problems.Nice product 5 stars.

Assembly difficult. My husband is an ACE Mechanic and he assembled it...... complained about the holes not lining up.... and it was a pain. Looks good after assembly and we're waiting for a chance to use it. We'll see.

Well constructed & easy to assemble. Copper turns a nice brassy/copper mix after the initial fire. Fire bowl large enough and deep enough to satisfy most users. Only problem was the firescreen's frame which warped after the first fire. Amazon came to the rescue and sent a new one within days. All is well. Can't yet comment on long term durability with only a few fires to date.

The design is great for small logs etc, it does blacken quickly. We did have an issue with the cover rusting within a week, even though we used the supply cover. When we called CobraCo; they commented that it was our problem, not theirs. Luckily Amazon was happy to send us another FirePit to replace the defective one we had. No problems with rusting on our replacement.

Junk!! This product came defective with hardware missing. One of the legs didn't have a threaded tap so I could not attach it to the frame, the bowl was bent so the screen didn't fit properly, and there were no taps on the bowl to attach the screen pins. Upon calling the manufacturer they told me that there policy was to send a return shipping label, I would then have to send them back the fire pit, once they received it they would send me out a new one. This process would take at least 3 weeks!!!
