Review: Lasted about 3 years - Purchased June 7 2021 - Failing March 9 2024. The lens on the PIR sensor became brittle and cracked apart from Florida sun. The sensor is now making it come on randomly every couple of minutes from dusk to dawn. It is sensitive enough the neighborhood cats will set it off and we were used to that. This is different though it's coming on non-stop. We've been satisfied with its performance over the past 3 years that I'm purchasing another as a replacement. The amount of light this thing puts out is amazing. For the price if I have to replace it every 3 years it's just barely worth the hassle. If it was more expensive I'd probably go with a different brand that has a more rugged PIR sensor shell. I'm probably going to replace it with the new model that has the 5ft remote leads to the secondary lights. That sounds appealing for how I have mine mounted and can run the wires inside the soffit. I'm wondering if I can get some wire extenders to mount the secondary lights even farther away to cover the entire side of the house. If not I can always cut and splice longer wires of the same outdoor rated gauge to it. I'm including pictures of the 3 year old light and a picture from a security camera mounted just beneath the lights. Anything used to trigger the PIR sensor on the lights would also trigger the security camera but that is no longer the case with a malfunctioning PIR sensor.
Review: Great light, Bright, great motion detector - I was very hesitant based off some of the reviews in buying this item but I figured why not try and worst comes to worst send it back if bad. Installed them which is very easy especially if replacing a previous light. Screw in, some adjustments of the lights directions and testing and then wait for darkness to see the product at work. They work better than I expected, the range for motion is very far, We were 50 feet from them and it sets off. The lights are brighter than ever. I will give a updated review as time passes but I hope it doesn’t change. If your reading the reviews these lights can go on sidewall and eaves, just a little maneuvering and Its great. Update: About a year old and they still work just like the day they were installed. There were car break-ins in my neighborhood and our cars were the only ones untouched. Highly recommended.

**Q: How do you turn this on to stay lit until you turn it off?**
A: If you turn switch on, then turn off, and then back on again, it will stay lit until you turn if off by the switch OR daylight.

**Q: Can this be installed on exterior mounted boxes or does the box have to be recessed?**
A: Yes, it can be mounted onto an exterior box. There are boxes that are made for outdoor use: plastic. The lamp package come with a ring seal that should be put under the unit and against the box. I used an exterior rated box and all is good.

**Q: I have two of these lights and both periodically start flashing until cycled off. are they defective or is something else causing this problem**
A: LED lights will often flash if the power supply is low - or if if the strength of the power fades.  This can often be attributed to a dimmer switch (or a bad switch).

**Q: Please tell me how to turn it on manually?**
A: The only way to turn on the light manually is if you have wired it to a switch. Then you can turn it on the off and then back on and the light will stay on till you switch it off again.

I purchased one of these to put in my garage... not on, but in. I placed it on the far wall and it does a wonderful job. I open the door and it picks me up immediately and illuminates the inside of the fairly large garage. I tilt up the lights to prevent being blinded. I liked it so much, I ordered 2 more to go outside, front and back to replace ones that just did not perform well. The devil is in the details ... Here is what you need to know. - The light is designed to be mounted vertically. i.e. on the side of the house, not overhead. - The biggest design flaw is that the sensor mounting bracket is really too short and here's why. The light works wonderfully in the garage because the main center light above the sensor is pointed up, but outside, where I want to tilt the light down, it interferes with the sensor alignment. Tilting the sensor down affects how far it will pick up distant moving objects. I even considered flipping it over, but the sensor will not swivel and has this side up printed on it. I have also read that light heat affects the sensor. - The sensor is not made to swivel horizontally. Same with the main center light, only the side lights tilt out, which is a bummer when you mount it on the side of the house. I like flexibility of light and sensor zone placement. Not sure if any light has all the bells and whistles. It is a really nice bright light. Just be aware of what I found out the hard way. Again, I still like the lights after a little modification.
