Great concept, but flawed.
I really wanted to like this product, and I'm giving it three stars mainly for innovation. However, in spite of the great packaging, the unit itself it fairly flimsy, and the one I received (and returned) had issues with the top hood nop opening all the way when converting from "cap" to "hood" mode. Of course not a good thing as part of the lens was is slightly blocked, and considering that I bought the 46mm version for a Leica M, which is a rangefinder and I cannot see through the lens to begin with....Which actually brings me to my next issue. They push the 46mm at Leica 35mm lens users, but this thing is huge (kind of understandable as it's a 2 in 1 device) and people who shoot with a Leica 35mm lens tend to want small and stealthy. Just my opinion. I would consider owning 3 or 4 or these if they worked better and I had larger lenses onother cameras and was in the field a lot. In a situation where I could treat them as disposable. But not at this price. Back to the Leica issue, this device is once again fairly flimsy looking and feeling. If they made a "Leica" (or comparable camera) version with better springs for the opening, was smaller AND made out of solid steel or at least aluminum, I would consider it for sure. It would offer more protection and feel more rugged on a camera rig that can potentially run into the $10,000 range....

Good idea, poorly executed.
The concept is very good, but it adds significant bulk to your lens, in this case, a Panasonic Leica 25mm for micro 4/3.The hood got stuck in the thread the first time I used it, and I had to break it to get it off my lens. I recommend you add a filter to your lens before adding the hoocap. It will make it easier for you to remove in the future.

Before I've bought a customized Sony RX1 version that was nearly perfect. Not so with the 52mm version
I've bought a 52mm threaded version. Before I've bought a customized Sony RX1 version that was nearly perfect. Not so with the 52mm version. Extremely flimsy, the latch would not not allow to close giving you a feeling that your're at rsik of breaking it, flawed implementation of otherwise interesting concept.
