Great kettle!
The only complaint that some people might have is that the handle does not flip 180 degrees from side to side. Other than that Great quality!

Almost just what I was looking for
Needed to replace my yellow, enamel covered steel teakettle I'd had for over 43 years (a wedding gift!!!) because water got inadvertently left in it over the winter with resulting rust inside that I was not able to remove. Not only did I need a kettle that had a removable lid but also a handle that swings down so that it can be filled using a dipper since there's no running water at our island camp. I was hoping to find another colorful replacement but all those styles could not have been filled except from a faucet. I love the large capacity as I use it to wash and rinse dishes. The whistling feature was a nice bonus and works great...convenient as I'm obviously becoming forgetful!!!So, it certainly does all that I need and want it to do, just wish it could have been more colorful.

Largest teapot
This was the largest teapot I could find. I make a lot of tea every day, and it was necessary to have a big one. Yes the handle seems a little bit flimsy where it attaches to the kettle, but I am careful and I’ve had it for a few months with no problems.

Actually I like it better than I thought I would
Let me start with writing: For the past forty years I have continuously used the copper bottom tea kettles (by Paul Revere) but when the most recent one "bite the dust" (or, was burned to death, more correctly) my searches only yielded those kettles priced at $150+. I refuse to pay that for a tea kettle; so, I ordered this one. Pluses: Nice (large) size. The handle moves enough and the lid removes completely; so, filling it is easy. Heats the water very fast. Keeps the water warm for a while, too. Light weight but appears to be rather sturdy. All those things I like. Negative: Although the "bakelite handle" does seem to provide "safe and easy pouring" the "flip-up spout" gets me almost every time. I get a burn (very minor - only temporary and a bit uncomfortable) either from the steam or a splash-back from the condensation in the spout. I have tried several ways to avoid this and nothing reliable has come to mind yet. Summary: For the price, convenience and my use it is a good purchase - without question. I will just need to learn how to get my fingers away from the spout's splash. Would have preferred to have the option to give 4.5 stars. (Something for amazon to consider!)

Great teapot.
So I got this for my husband. He has a habit of boiling water and forgetting and then boiling it down to nothing...so it seriously took me 7 years to think of a teapot🤦🏻♀️We needed a big one and this is awesome!! He can make his pitcher of sweet tea in this. It whistles loud enough for him to hear and keeps whistling until he takes it off (why didn’t I think of this sooner)🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️It cleans up really well and looks great just sitting on the stove.

A great kettle
Love this tea kettle. I use loose tea and use a large diffuser basket and this kettle allows the water to completely cover top of diffuser. Love the lovely polished inside and outside. Like the way the handle will fold out of the way to fill and place the diffuser in and out. It certainly holds enough water to brew enough tea to dilute to a gallon of iced tea. Highly recommend

doesn't leak
The gauge steel is not as thick as the one I used to have, however it does the job. It's not rusting and the handle is very sturdy. the handle does get hot sometimes depending on how much water is in the pot and how long it is on the stove so I just use a potholder. The neck is a little longer than my older one which is good since it pours better. The lid fits well. Overall I can't complain. The whistle works and it's easy to pour.

Good value
I wanted a tea kettle to boil a gallon of water at a time. 4.3 quarts should easily do this, BUT that amount of liquid does not fir in the kettle without filling the pour spout, thus preventing the whistling effect when the water has reached the boiling point. Additionally, the handle on the lid was not constructed well. I had to reattach the lid handle and eventually get a different size stainless steel screw to correct the issue. The kettle does work well and is worth the price, but I gave it the 4 star rating for the reasons listed above.
