Golden Girls Forever: An Unauthorized Look Behind the Lanai Kindle Edition

Fantastic hardcover tome! It's a heavy (in a great way) coffee table book and extremely detailed. It's over 350 glossy full colored pages. I highly recommend this book! It even has a fitting cover underneath the jacket. I would highly recommend buying this brand new if you are a collector.

Picture it, more than 30 years after first airing, the Golden Girls are still one of the most popular and most watched shows of our time. This cult-classic had everything from an all-star cast to the most famous guest stars in the business. There were 7 years filled with laughter, tears, "Back in St. Olaf" stories, and of course....cheese-cake!! The only thing missing was this book!!The golden Girls Forever is packed with hundreds of exclusive interviews, tons of behind-the-scenes information, over 200 color and black-and-white photos, commentary, lots of fun facts and even quotes from celebrities fans telling us why they love the Golden Girls so much!It's a perfect companion to the show!! What else can we say but, "Thank You For Being A Friend"!!

As a huge "Golden Girls" fan, I loved this book - a superb job done by the author so evidently a loving fan himself. My only gripe with it is that while it extensively covers the series and related cultural spin-offs (fan artwork, stage tribute shows, connections to other latter Tv series etc) it fails to acknowledge the actual official spin-off itself "The Golden Palace" aside from the odd aside and negative swipe (the author is obviously not a fan of it) - considering it was the continuation of the original series and featured three of the main Girls (all four with Bea Arthur's appearance in two of its episodes) it definitely should have been included. Also, while key "Golden Girls" episodes ARE covered in great detail, a full listing of all episodes would have been nice. Otherwise, a great job done and a great book to own and enjoy over and over again.

This is not just some fun review of a great television series. It’s a political and social editorial. It was a huge disappointment to discover that I’m too straight to love the Golden Girls. Just not sure why homosexuality and a this tv series have been indivisibly linked. Such a fun show; such a cynical review. I came away with one quote that expresses the cynicism from one contributor:, “it turned out we hated all the same…people. There is no bond like hating the same people”. My God that’s sad! Sounds like a happy life. And, unfortunately the entire book is full of like ideals.Too bad too! The book is of wonderful quality, and some fun pictures and details of the show. It’s just that the Golden Girls is a secondary subject to the pitiful pictures of the cross dressing insults to those four unique and beautiful actresses, gay testimonials to the extent of shameless plugs for gay ice cream and coffee. Nothing wrong with a gay book I guess, I just didn’t order one. I ordered a book about fun facts of a great tv show, the Golden Girls.

FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!! I love the Golden Girls Hit Television series, and this book is perfect for a huge fan like myself!! First of all, it's beautiful........the colorful cover is eye-catching, and makes an interesting coffee table item. The pages are full of high-quality,colorful pictures which correspond with the information in the associated text. The author, Mr. Colucci has spent lots of time gathering information, and lot's of fun trivia facts for his book! If you enjoy an in-depth, behind the scenes look into one the best, funniest, well-written television sit-coms, you MUST have this book!! Although three of the "girls" are gone now, I'm sure they would be so pleased with this book! Thank you Mr. Colucci for producing such a wonderful book.

Most Amiga (and Mac) history books are full of legend and lore of the gifted visionary engineers who developed the system and/or the amazing or totally inept companies they work for. This book doesn't fall into those tropes at all.This book examines a series of iconic products from the Amiga's ecosystem including the Boing Ball demo, Deluxe Paint and Video Toaster. It dives deep into how they worked with a focus on how the Amiga's system architecture made the development easier in some ways and harder in others. A few of the chapters were a tiny bit more programming detail than I cared to digest but that was maybe 10 pages of the entire book and the rest I enjoyed a lot.

My book arrived today! I am 39 years old and almost everynight I watch a episode or two before bed. I find the show to be very comforting and very funny! This book was well worth the buy for a true fan. It goes through every episode and there are pictures and commentary from the main four actresses about each episode. You learn tidbits about who actually ate the cheesecake and who hated it to the real names of the guest stars on the show and more!

This is a book for people who like background information about popular TV shows and, specifically, "The Golden Girls." The authors have gathered a good deal of production information and included it in this volume. However, I think a lot of space is wasted in overly long plot synopses. The people who buy the book are fans of the show and have seen the episodes more than once. All that's really needed is a brief plot summary, not a scene-by-scene deconstruction, including jokes. The best part is the detail about the program's four stars and how they got the roles. Also included are career highlights of the "girls" before the show aired and after it stopped production.

If you're a fan of the Golden Girls this book is an absolute must! I had a feeling it would arrive and be a total disappointment, not really offering up anything we didn't already know about one of the best sitcoms to have graced our screens. The level of detail this book goes into is immense. Jim Colucci manages to encompass all there is to know into 368 pages and then some! As well as trivia on the show and actors, each episode is covered using commentary, exclusive set photos (truly never seen before) and gold-rated trivia.These days you can just google a TV show and have its production information at your fingertips; This wasn't possible 30 years ago so It's been a long wait. Thank you Jim Colucci for being the Girls' biggest friend!

This is the best present I have ever bought myself.Obviously I'm a massive Golden Girls fan so to be able to look behind the scenes is a real treat.Jim really love the show and you can tell as he writes about all the characters.Its brilliant !

Amazing book - written with love, clearly.So many interviewees featured, giving real insight into the creation of the series and individual episodes.Sadly, there are a lot of anecdotes relating to Bea that make it clear that she must have been 'tricky' (and that's being polite).
