Great Simple Vice
First, I am way out of practice with fly fishing, so my uses for flies have been mostly float and drift fishing with spinning tackle for salmon and steelhead. But, buying this vice has me thinking of picking up a rod, reel, and line to get in to fly fishing more. The main reason is because this is a simple and great vice for tying flies. It holds your hook in place with the cam locking lever and that is where it stays, it will not move. There are no super complex this about it for set up or alignment, if you have questions the power of google is a great tool. There is one additional tool that comes with the vice which locks the vice in position on its post with a screw, you can loosen it to adjust the angle of the vice.Final thing I really like about this vice is the price, it is very affordable and can be used right out of the box.

wow it work great, now it can clamp to the lowest and ...
this vise can clamp to the lowest of size 10 hook, not lower than that as advertise.I play with it and remove a washer which I think that limit the adjustment movement.upon clamping the jaw broke. So I run to my local fly shop and replaced the jaw withoriginal Renzetti apprentice jaw, wow it work great, now it can clamp to the lowest and to 7/0.
