This prism *is* glass. I saw from the reviews of other (plastic) prisms that plastic doesn't deliver good results. This glass prism generates deep, saturated colors in the full rainbow from the split light. My nine-year-old daughter was enthralled. I expected her to enjoy the prism, since it was on her wish list, but I was surprised by how long she played with it, trying different qualities of light, indoors and out.

Cool Prism, Well Made
I purchased this prism (Equilateral 6" ~ Glass) about three years ago and still use it regularly for photographs. I own a bunch of different shapes and sizes of prisms, but this is definitely one of my favorite ones to use. I use it on any of the sides of the photos to create a cool effect of a light leak, or to reflect the scenery around the image into the frame. This prism is unique to use for this effect because of the three sides, and any way you twist it will give you a different look.The prism itself is made well, a solid heavy-ish glass (its really not too bad weight wise but sturdy enough not to break). It now has a small nick on one of the edges, but I chalk that up to the wear and tear I've put on it from keeping it in my gear bag. Even with the small nick there is no sharp edges revealed, and I've never had to worry about cutting myself on any of the sides of this.When the sun shines directly into it it can create cool designs and rainbows, and I'm sure it would be perfect to use for any science experiments or for projects for kids. I would recommend purchasing this item. I've used it for years already, and I'm sure it will provide use for years to come.

Great glass. Would recommend the thicker version however - this is pretty thin for use with photography. Lost mine and replaced with the Amlong Crystal one sold on here which came with a carrying case.

Yup, It's a Prism
Unwrapped the little package and sure enough it is exactly as described a triangular piece of glass! A Prism!! Very clear and is just what I expected.
