Disappointing read. I didn’t realise that it was targeted at the American reader and some of the devices and apps described are not available in the UK. Prices are given in Dollars. It is quite hardware focussed and I really wanted more on the range of commands available. The title was thus misleading. It should have been called The Echo User Guide, rather than Alexa User Guide.

This book is brilliant and extremely helpful. It had a number of very informative chapters including the setup, features, a list of 100 compatible devices with Echo, common troubleshooting problems, and further explanation. All the chapters are very well written and I am not going to go into too much detail regarding each chapter but when I read the book it appear to me as a read not only for those who owned the Amazon device but also to those who just bough it or even are considering buying it. Each chapter is filled with many useful tips and is broken down into easily understood subsections. The only feature which is currently lacking is some explanation as to what commands one can give The device in different situations but those are easily found on the net so this did not affect my rating of this book.All in all I would definitely recommend this book and have given it the highest rating.

This concise volume was packed full of helpful and informative detail on how to use your Amazon Echo from the moment of purchase to long term users. With chapters ranging from the different types of Alexa available to the differing compatible devices that can be used alongside Alexa to allow you a “Hands-free” household, this really did cover all you need to know. Particularly helpful we’re the troubleshooting guides and reminders that Alexa is constantly running in the background and I also liked the information on some of the Alexa Skills that are available to you. Although much of this advice is readily available over the Internet, being able to access it all in one place is invaluable and it contained much that I was not aware of.

Ok book if you don’t understand what Alexa does.....few good points...it was free on kindle so didn’t mind getting it
