Best lube for dry conditions
This is probably the all-around best chain lube available, provided you aren't riding in wet conditions.Epic Ride is a very light (i.e. low viscosity) lubricant, so it flows into the chain very well (but be advised that it will drip everywhere and any excess will come spraying off your chain and gears when you ride off). The downside of this is that it absolutely will not survive getting even the least bit wet. If you ride on wet pavement after rain, your tires will spray water up into your drivetrain, the lube will all wash off, and you will need to re-lube. This isn't that big a deal and shouldn't be considered a shortcoming of the product at all -- water resistance in lubricant is a tradeoff, and when you gain water resistance you also have to deal with increased viscosity, gumminess, and the tendency to become dirty faster. Epic Ride will pick up a little road grime, but stays relatively clean for a wet lube.I don't find that it lasts the advertised 70 miles. My chain (which is fairly new and is well taken care of) starts getting noisy again after about 40 to 50. However, I tend to reapply every 30ish anyway, so this isn't really a huge deal for me. I keep a small 4oz bottle in myย Topeak Aero Wedge Pack ย for this purpose. If you ride in even slightly wet conditions with any regularity and don't want to deal with re-lubricating very frequently, you might want to check out another product likeย White Lightning Wet Ride ย (which I haven't used, but which comes highly recommended). Otherwise, there probably isn't a better overall lube around.

Tired of chain grease, tried this, love it
Eeeeewwwww, the mess of black chain grease, hate it, hate it, hate it. I found Epic Ride at a big box store, and I love it, love it, love it. I don't care if it requires more frequent applications, it makes for a better, smoother and CLEANER ride. I do not often say "I'm willing to pay more..." for anything! But in this case, there are only pros, and for that, I will reapply as needed and buy it by the gallon (or whatever is the largest size). I have also used White Lightning's Clean Ride (wax), it was fine, but Epic Ride offers the best ride. Oil lube - never again!! For those complaining about the drip formula, WL makes an aerosol version of Epic Ride: http://www.amazon.com/White-Lightning-Conditions-Bicycle-Aerosol/dp/B003UANTW8EDIT: I re-reviewed this at the listing for the larger size, with a downgrade. This is not a good lube for winter.

This is: "it"
You can stop looking for "it". Because this *is* it. I got my first Schwinn in the 50's, my first Holland bike in the 60's. I've a few years of riding behind me. Now I live in the desert southwest, but as they say "it's a dry heat". White lightning epic makes your chain "disappear". So quiet, so smooth - effortless. This is it!

Mediocre Ride
Soooo not epic - I am now reapplying to chain every 40 to 50 miles to keep the squeaks away. Fat hole in tip allows too much product to flow out while just inverting the bottle (without squeezing), so it's difficult to apply accurately without dripping on the floor at least a few times per application - I have to lay out some newspaper first. The dissolved wax that you shake up first is a gimmick - it just eventually ends up on your cassette as the dreaded black gunk.

hasn't failed me yet
i use this on all my mountain bikes and i lube it generously before every ride. it's been through all kinds of conditions: dust, dirt, mud, rain, snow (yes, snow - should check weather reports before riding up the mountain). i have tried waxed base stuff in the past but i have to say this does not gum up nearly as bad...

The go-to lube for most cyclists
I have been using White Lightning products since my earliest days cycling with no complaints. The money spent on this lube is money well spent to protect your high end drive bike components hundreds of dollars or more so why go with anything other than a proven brand such as White Lightning.

Great bang for the buck. I don't feel bad about reapplying when it's been rainy.
My bike had developed several issues. For one, it the chain was excessively noisy, it was refusing to shift gears properly, and the chain had slipped countless times. I decided to try this stuff on a whim, despite my opinion of the stuff at the Walmart down the street. Boy was I surprised when a simple application of Epic Ride fixed all three issues I was sure would need to be checked out by a bike tech or require replacements of parts. The only issue (which really isn't an issue at all) is that this stuff is that it doesn't hold up well in wet weather. However, this stuff can, and should, be applied as needed if you are in wetter areas. There's no reason not to keep your chain well lubed with this stuff.

Gets the job done.
I'm by no means a professional rider, so I wanted a lube that is squirt and go. I avoided any sort of wax lubes because I've heard they can be a pain in the butt to clean off your chain once they're on. Epic Ride goes on easy enough (shake well before use), penetrates fairly well (pushes out a lot of grime), but it does like to drip a bit so do it over some newspaper or paper towels. It doesn't attract a whole lot of dirt, but some does stick. However, I've noticed that the chain behaves the same whether it's totally clean or slightly grimy, so long as you have it properly lubed. Definitely quieted down my chain and lasted for about the advertised 70 miles. Also as a last tip, I like to apply one coat, let sit for 30 minutes, then come back and apply another coat before taking a "test ride" and going up and down my gears repeatedly. For me the bottle can handle about 10 applications.
