Nice coat rack tree!
I had been searching the internet and stores locally to find a new coat "tree" when I discovered this on Amazon. The picture is a bit blurry and very small so it's hard to see that plastic weighted base. Upon arrival, some of the "hangar" rods had a few dings and dents as they were just rolling around in the box with no protection or Styrofoam around them. Overall it is very nice and holds a lot of coats. We make sure to try to distribute the weight and not put too many heavy coats to one side. The small plastic base is weighted as I think it's filled with sand. (It sort of reminds me of a small version of a patio umbrella stand, except our umbrella stand is cast iron, this is plastic.)The Oak finish is lovely and had no scratches or imperfections. Assembly was very easy and didn't take very long to put it all together. The only tool I needed was a phillips screwdriver to attach the bolt through the base into the main post. All the hangars are screwed in place by hand. A small tube of glue was provided as well. I like it and would definitely recommend this to anyone. The only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is the less than perfect packaging and that the base is not as large or substantial as expected. With no coats on it the weight is probably only about 8 pounds so it does move easily.

A lifesaver!
I honestly can't say enough good about this coat rack. My husband and I are in transition having moved from a 2500+ sq. foot home to one room in someone else's home. We had no way to keep our one room neat until I ordered this coat rack. We were very pleased with the way it was packaged. The coat rack is strong, and the design is exceptional. It has so many places to hang your stuff, it is fabulous. What a lifesaver. My husband put it together in about 20 minutes without a hitch, and we were both very impressed with the quality. One reviewer mentioned the plastic looking base. True. It probably is plastic. But honestly? For the function of this coat rack, and the fact that it is a solid quality product, I have zero complaints. We are thrilled, and I would highly recommend this to anyone living in a small space with a desperate need for extra storage. I think it would even work well inside a walk-in closet for all those clothes you've worn but aren't dirty enough to put in the laundry...that's what we've used it for. As a kind of valet. Works like a champ!

Good value! Easy to assemble. Nice design.
Good value and was just as advertised. Took a little longer to get than I hoped but I've become spoiled by my Amazon Prime 2 day shipping. Easy to put together and sturdy. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is my wife felt it was cheap looking and was less than pleased I made the purchase. She didn't want a coat rack in our home at all so I think she was a little biased. She tells me she plans to hide it from me if I don't return it. I got tired of having guests throw their coats on our couch because the coat closet is full. If she does hide it I would / will buy it again :). If you like what you see pictured don't hesitate because you won't be disappointed.

Fancy coat rack
Before I selected this coat rack I saw many syles and let me tell you most of them didn't look strong enough and they also were expensive. I picked this one because it has more hangers or pegs if you will, than any I have seen. I just finished assembling it. It is not hard at all. It only took me few extra minutes putting the bottom to the first pole because it fits by pressure and then you have to screw the two pieces together, the rest was a piece of cake. The instructions are very easy to follow. It is very fancy looking, and very steady. Most of the coat racks tend to veer to the right or left because the main pole attached to the base goes on top of the base this one has at least 2 to 2 1/2 inches that go into the base this will prevent the main pole from tilting in either direction, also the base of the rack is heavier than the ones I looked at before I made my selection. Overall I'm very happy with my purchase.

Great product for kids and adults.
Multiple hooks at various heights make it easy for both adults and kids to find places to hang coats, hats, backpacks, etc. When I opened the box, I was surprised at the amount of chrome. Once assembled, it looks fine, but wasn't exactly what I expected. I comes in a very small box, so there are many pieces to put together. The directions are fairly clear, but it did take longer to assemble than I had originally expected. I worried that the base, though heavy, might not have a large enough diameter to hold coats, etc., for three children and two adults, but it seems to be working fine.Overall, it seems sturdy and holds a lot. A good buy.

This is exactly what you need a coat rack to be
The most important feature of a coat rack is that it does not tip over when you hang a heavy coat on it. The sturdy base takes care of that. I was able to hang several jackets without feeling that it wanted to tip over. There are a generous number of rounded hooks, so many guests can hang their coats up without worrying about it damaging the fabric. The hooks at half-mast are really useful for kids to hang their jackets on.Assembly was a cinch, though the instructions could have been better. All that was provided was a list of parts and what they looked like plus a picture of the completed coat rack, so we had to build it in sections and try to match the finished look.
