This item works as described and is perfect for a 20oz or larger pitcher. I only gave it 3 out of 5 stars as it does not come with the calibration tool. I read the instructions that came with it and had to search online to see how to calibrate it, that is when I learned that a tool has to be purchased separately to do the calibration. It does not state in the description that a separate tool has to be purchased. Had it come with the tool, I would have gave it 5 stars. I suppose now I'll have to spend the extra $5 to get the tool on my next order. Also, the item does not come in any other packaging except for being wrapped up in bubble wrap. It should at least have another box or more packaging to help prevent breakage, nonetheless, it came undamaged.

These thermometers take a pounding everyday in my busy cafe, and they provide solid, reliable and accurate performance over the long term. I am amazed at their durability given the treatment they take (we do about 180 hot milk drinks per day). I check calibration for accuracy on a regular basis, and seldom need adjustment. Calibration takes seconds with a small pair of pliers (in my environment maybe every 6 months - in a domestic environment maybe never).The face is super-easy to read. I need reading glasses for most things - but not these thermometers.I have tried many other brands of thermometers in my business, and if there is another brand which performs close to this one, then I haven't found it. I can strongly recommend for accuracy, durability and ease of use.NINE YEARS LATER .............. This thermometer has finally failed after solid daily use in busy cafe (fortunately I bought two at the time). I really only expected 1 -2 years life under these conditions.

A wanted this for our home espresso machine and although the stem is 7" and out froth cup is 4 and 1/2"...it works! The print also is too small for me, but all I need is to watch the dial not get to the red. For what I need it to do it works just fine!

Works for the most part. The indicator gets stuck sometimes and you have to give it a light tap to get an accurate reading. Nbd though.

This thermometer is certainly better than the candy thermometer I'd been using before to make cheese and yogurt, but it has proven difficult to read and the calibration must be constantly checked because it moves!! As soon as I can afford it, I plan to buy a digital thermometer so I can be assured I won't lose a batch to an inaccurate thermometer.

Easy to read. Replaced 2 in one year.

We own a coffee shop and have used this item before. Delivery and shipment came as described with no problems. We now have 4 of them.

these are great, i use them at my work so they get a lot of use. they don't need to be calibrated very often and i love how the dial is marked to show the temperature that they need to be calibrated to, the not too hot temperature, regular temperature and extra hot. super happy
