My 20-Month-Old Granddaughter Loves Tip Top Cat
We found this book at the public library on one of our trips with our then-18-month-old granddaughter. She loves the big, colorful and realistic pictures of the cat checking out his new home, stalking birds outside and sitting on top of the chimney overlooking Paris. She liked having us read it to her so much, we renewed the book one time. Looking on Amazon, I discovered we can own our own copy for under $8. We babysit her two days a week, and she wants to see Tip Top Cat at least once each day.

Great story about bouncing back in your own time.
This book has led to all sorts of conversations with my preschooler about falling unexpectedly, what it means to have a broken spirit, and the healing that time often brings. Great book.

Simple story effectively told with words and illustrations
This is a lovely book for children. The illustrations are detailed, colorful and realistic. The ones of the cat are especially accurate, showing the cat doing cat-like activities such as playing with something small, pouncing and investigating new territory. This type of investigation leads to a scary adventure for the cat but everything turns out well. I was especially impressed that the story clearly demonstrated in word and picture that the cat was affected by its experience, though, and that it took some time before the cat was comfortable going away from its home base again. A simple but affecting story beautifully told.

TipTop Cat (Kindle edition)
Just a very cute little book with excellent artwork. I have the Kindle edition and it was still great. I do think i should have bought the hardback edition because the book is as much about the artwork as the text, and it is hard to share with kids what is on the page without a large edition. It is my opinion that excellent artwork is necessary to teach children what "well done" looks like (unlike the ugly art work of the 1960's) and this qualifies.

Gorgeous illustrations, short story.
Beautiful illustrations. It took a little getting used to because some pages are formatted so you have to read all the way across both pages. It is a very, very simple story. I actually would have liked a little bit more... but I guess it is more of a "picture book".

Beautiful, captivating illustrations enhance a simple
Beautiful, captivating illustrations enhance a simple, yet powerful, story of the strength of one's spirit. The cat's resiliency was admirable, and time and a very ordinary happening cured his broken spirit. There is hope for everyone. And as a bonus to the great message in the book, the views of Paris are wonderful!
