Useful in some limited cases
Not exactly a part that everyone needs or finds useful. I use mine on a Tivo to expand our capacity of HDDs. Been several years and I have safely say that this works and continues to work, through all the years and power outages, no problems with the data on the drive connected to it. I recommend it and would buy this again if I need an extra one or replacement. Please click YES if my review have been helpful to you, it will encourage me to continue writing and updating my reviews, and leave a comment if you have any questions, I will be more than happy to answer if I can be of help.

Mine did not work
I bought based on price and positive feedback on Amazon. The plan was to install a second HD purchased from Amazon. The PC would not recognize the new drive. I swapped out the new cable to a SATA drive already installed and then the PC couldn't see that one either. Had someone else try it on a different PC just to be sure--same result. Bought a SATA cable at Radio Shack and the new drive was immediately recognized. So I returned this cable to Amazon. I wasted a lot of time to save a few bucks on a cable that did not work.

Works well, quite, actually, very short...
You'd think a foot and a half would be enough, but nope. I've got a full sized computer case and a unique situation.I ran out of SATA ports on my motherboard and the only one left was, you guessed it -- eSata. So, I ran the cable from inside the case to the outside (through the openings where the brackets are) so it would plug into the eSata port. Worked well, now my SSD can be used as a bootable drive and the cable is still going strong for about a year.

incorrect gender
I thought the cable, as pictured, would convert a male SATA to a male eSATA. Unfortunately that was not the case, the cable i purchased requires another adapter to get the cord to fit so my purchase is completely useless, and sending the cord back would cost more than the original purchase price so I'm stuck with a useless item. In the future I don't plan to order items like this online, I'll find a real store where I can go in person to make sure that I'm receiving the correct item.

It's got a clip
Yip Yip Yippers!! It's got a clip on the L-shaped connection side (the SATA side) and it's the recomended length for full eSATA data transmission. Worst part is it's flat and doesn't make corners well. It's a pretty red and your girlfriends will love ya more. 7-pin

good brand good cable
this is a good brand, and a good cable I like the brand because they make good stuff and the cable has a latch on it so it doesn't fall off the drive or motherboard.

You get what you pay for
Bought 3 cables and 2 out of the 3 worked. The one cable actually failed after it had been connected for a few weeks. I have never before had a SATA cable fail on me. You get what you pay for unfortunately.

Sata high bit rate data transfer
I have a 2TB WD Caviar Green drive mounted in a Raygo drive enclosure. The Raygo comes with an eSata to eSata cable, but, I needed to connect the Raygo to my desktop's motherboard Sata connector. This adaptor cable did the trick, and what a screaming combination. Now, I transfer my DVD movie collection to the WD drive, then move it to my WDTV Live Hub.
