Aside from having a giant suction cup in the way you can still set this up easy and use it to what you need it for, example while playing the guitar etc.

Some folks on here seem to like this device, and I can understand why, to an extent. The clamp is very strong, the phone gets mounted very securely via two big suction cups and a wide strip of velcro, and the gooseneck does allow for creative shots from a variety of places. It's a great concept. However, the gooseneck is very stiff/brittle plastic that is tough to adjust, and the way the phone gets affixed to the top of the mount is via two big suction cups that block the screen entirely. If you can't see your phone's screen how can you frame a nice shot? This was a dealbreaker for me, though it may not be for other folks.

this product is AWESOME. It is SO strong! the clip is very strong - able to clip onto almost everything! and the extention rod is as strong.. am I using the word 'strong' too often? well - I really wanted something this super-sturdy to hold my 'hand held computer that can also make phone calls'!! Yes, when you own a smart phone - it is actually a mini-computer valued at approximately $600 or more, so why WOULDN'T you want something as strong as possible to insure it doesn't fall/crack/break? this product will have so many uses for me - but especially helping with videos so I don't have to show something doing it one-handed. Hoping to do you-tube/webinars too! I did receive this item at a discount for an honest and unbiased review. I would HIGHLY recommend it! I hope this review is helpful for your buying decision...

Bought this to hold a smart phone (Samsung S4). First time I used it, it worked perfectly. Second time, the gooseneck broke at one of the swivel points making it unusable. Tried heavy duty duct tape on that joint to no avail. The clamp is great, but the gooseneck sucks big time.

Do Not Buy. I had this for 1 year with maybe 5 uses mounting to various objects. Broke at one of the gooseneck pieces and wont stay up anymore. This is an action mount.com jaws..unsure if same as the GoPro Jaws or not. Stay away.
