Does this drive support TRIM?

Your pata motherboard bios doesn't support trim, neither does the pata protocol, neither does anything Windows xp or earlier (Vista may also not support it).

Question 2

Would this drive work with the Yamaha AW4416 Multitrack Recorder? its the same interface and size although not SSD but HDD. Any thoughts?

I put this drive in an old laptop that needed PATA and it's working quite well - very reliable and noticeably faster. The interface is fine - it's pure PATA / IDE. The size may be an issue. While it's supposed to be an exact physical replacement for a traditional 2.5" PATA/IDE drive, they were a little sloppy controlling the exact size. It's a tiny bit bigger than it should be. This meant that I could not simply bolt it into the stainless steel carrier and plug it in. I had to toss the nice carrier and just plug it into the interface, put a small piece of thin sponge sheet on top and then the cover plate. For me, it's fine. You might not be so lucky depending on how Yamaha physically mounts the drive inside.

Does this come with software and a cable to clone the current computer?

Mine didn't have either. Free software is available to clone drives but you'll need an additional  SATA cable and available SATA power connection to connect the drive.

The HP Mini says 40 pin interface this drive says 44 pin interface will it be compatible with the 40pin?

PATA standard uses 40 pins for communication. A device with 44 pins has 4 extra pins that act as "switches" to tell the device that it is a master, slave, cable select or other. On a laptop with one drive, no switches are usually needed. This drive should work if your laptop uses PATA (IDE) look it up on wikipedia for a picture of the pins. What I have run into with these drives is they are a bit thicker than a normal spinning HDD, maybe 1.5mm. Just don't force it. The older white version was a tad thinner but the new silver ones are the only ones I can find now. The current technology is SATA which is much faster and does not have the 40 pins or "switches" it resembles a USB or HDMI connector (IT'S NOT EITHER SO DONT TRY), you just plug and go.good luck and keep the packaging.
