Perfect adjunct to TRAINING!
The best tool to help you train your dog not to pull. Took my 4 month old Doberman who has pulling issues on a walk right after we got it and the pulling was cut in half instantly! It makes it less beneficial to pull because it turns her around without me having to pull her back (which is super counterproductive). We went on a 3.5 mile run and i did not see any chaffing on her armpits after and it does not seem to be uncomfortable to her in any way whatsoever even when it turns her it is very gentle. When we run with a normal harness she pulls to to "help" like a sled dog, but doesn't understand thats not what I want haha Its very important to understand that this is NOT a solution to pulling, it just treats the SYMPTOMS. It helps with training only! If your dog pulls you have to make a correction EVERY SINGLE TIME until he/she doesn't pull anymore. There are plenty of ways to train a puppy not to pull and most of them require extreme amounts of patients and understanding. This helped take out the frustration of the training but nothing replaces sound training. I would say that if you still require this device to not get your dog to pull after 6 months then you probably need to re-evaluate your training methods. That being said this thing is great and very well made! the velvet is done perfectly and having two loops to hook into is great. I have seen the easy walk in person and I would say this is far superior. The package even states that they will replace up to 2 straps if your dog chews through them.

Finally a no pull that works for me
My dog is a beagle/boxer mix. He has the strength of a boxer - but the nose and focus of a beagle. He often gets involved in sniffing and totally ignores me or any leash. First I had the Sporn Pet Halter. It worked somewhat - but my dog still pulled (this harness puts pressure under the legs to prevent pulling). This was a good halter that he couldn't get out off - but my dog was too stubborn and just pulled against it. Next I got the PetSafe Easy Walk Harness (very similar to this harness but only front connector and no cross strap) - worked pretty well but my dog totally could get out of it - again very stubborn and just pulls till the chest strap slipped. This is a great mix of the two harnesses I mentioned above. Has good security - but also gives some pressure (around the ribs) and the front connector to turn the dog around if he pulls. This works so well for him because it kind of snaps him back to remember what I want from him i.e. donโt pull! I really like the dual connections. I actually just use a good leash with a clip on both ends. When I need him to stay with me and not pull I connect both ends and hold the front end a little closer. This puts the pressure more to the front and keeps him from trying to take off. When we are walking and I want to let him sniff around a little I just connect the back. The pressure on the torso still reminds him to stay close but gives him the freedom to check things out.

Excellent Harness
We purchased this harness for our escape artist Siberian husky who previously had escaped from other harnesses while on a leash I was holding. Pros: * Well made, certainly will not fall apart on it's own. * It seems rather escape proof. I'd still not tie a dog out on it (they could chew through). The martingale loop is a must. * Pulling has been reduced significantly, and our husky loves to pull. * The chest loop is made of a soft material that does not hurt our dogs belly (we've had trouble with this in the past). * I haven't used it yet, but the replacement of chewed through parts seems like a good deal to me :) * The two ended leash is very convenient, it will not pull through the loop if one end comes off (simply becomes a conventional leash). Cons: * It's roughly twice as expensive as any other harness we've used. * It will not fit any dog, so make sure you follow the measurement instructions and purchase the correct size. We plan on purchasing another one of these harnesses for our Lab/German shepherd mix puppy, but are holding out in case he gets a little bigger :)

My dog actually pulled harder with this harness on.
I have two pitbull mixes, and one is a definite terrier. Despite training (he flunked leash walking in puppy school), he consistently pulls. I've historically used the EasyWalk harness, which attaches the leash in front, and it works just OK, as he can lean into it and pull anyway, especially if he sees a C - A - T. The EasyWalk works better if I run the leash under his front leg -- really cuts down on the yanking. But I really wanted something that didn't rub under his leg. I received this Freedom harness yesterday, read the directions and put it on him. I had watched YouTube videos on this and the local trainer highly recommended it. My dog pulled harder than EVER. It was like he was jet-propelled, and we had the most frustrating/enfuriating walk ever. (Keep in mind, I walk my dogs together, and the other dog is a dream on-leash.) I promptly came home with him, took this harness off, and put the old one back on. Ran it under his belly and walked him, mostly without incident. This is going back.

I really want to love this...
I have a very determined puller in our Aussie pup. He gives zero F's that his neck or chest are being constricted when pulling. If he sees something he wants to go for, he's going! We've been through 5 different harnesses between him growing and trying to find one that will help with the pulling. We've been through this stage with multiple dogs in the past, and so far we have yet to find the perfect harness. Having gone through my list of standbys, I reached out to a friend who's a dog walker, and she recommended the Freedom. I like the design of this a lot. There's a lot of flexibility in the adjustments, which I find lacking in most of the other harnesses I like. Dogs aren't a standard shape or size when it comes to neck and chest dimensions, so having a large range of adjustments within a specific harness size is very important. This harness gets an A+ there. This goes along with the comfort level as well, since an ill-fitting harness is not gonna be super comfortable for the dog. The padding on the chest/under arm straps seem really nice. I having noticed any sort of chaffing, and it seems to stay where it's supposed to be. Overall construction and durability is great. The stitching is very good, and I have no concern that it will fall apart, after a month of everyday use. I really like the concept martingale like clip on the top vs a fixed attachment there. In theory it should tighten around the whole chest instead of just choking down on one spot on the bottom. And the dual leash concept is nice. However, it really isn't doing much to stop the pulling. My nutjob of a puppy is walking better than he was with the previous harnesses, but he still pulls like there's nothing holding him back. Not just when he wants to go after a leaf, or a squirrel, or that other leaf, but also in normal stride. He is always out in front and using every bit of leash that I allow. Which brings me to the downfall of this arrangement. The dual attachment leash creates a loop between the front and back. The handle is "floating" on a D-ring, to provide flexibility. However, this means the only leash you have is the handle. When you want to bring your pup in close, you canโt just quickly wrap the leash around your hand, because it's two ends being pulled in opposite directions once you pass the floating handle. It's extremely uncomfortable to wrap that around your hand. Holding inside of the loop created by the 2 attachments is slightly better, but again, trying to wrap this is not quick nor comfortable to your hands. I didn't expect a miracle to stop the pulling, as we all know this is a learned trait/skill. I did hope that it would be more of a deterrent though. We'll continue to use this harness, as I do really like it, but have to experiment with other leash options. I haven't tried only using one attachment yet, because that was the big selling point to me having both the steer and pull back.

Loved this for the first 6-7 months
Loved this for the first 6-7 months. It's simple and effective. Now at about 7 months the plastic buckles have swollen and I have an extremely difficult time unclipping this harness off my dog. Without the buckles, this harness is useless unless you don't need it for more than 6 months.

It does have a nice fit. The front straps ride high where they ...
Certainly a well made product. As far as no pull, it might work for a timid dog, but not for an aggressive puller. It does have a nice fit. The front straps ride high where they should be, not low causing a tripping action. If you just want a very nice harness - this is it.

She is much better with this harness than with a normal harness
I have now purchased three of these collars. I have a Bernese Mountain dog (XL) and a chocolate labrador (XL) and an Australian Shepard (M). All three were notorious pullers. I have worked with them - but with three dogs, it becomes a full time job to walk them because they all must be walked alone due to the lack of control when i have a pack of them together. I am no Cesar Milan but I do try. After using the harness 3x with my Bernese Mt. dog, i was able to drop her down to just using one of the hooks. It shut down the pulling or lunging almost immediately. The Chocolate Lab still needs work on the leash. She has used it three times, too. But, she still lunges when she sees another dog or kid running. We will continue to work with her on an individual basis. She isn't my brightest dog, so it may take longer. The Aussie - my smallest and youngest - gets so excited that she cannot help but run sideways with or w/o the harness. If it is possible for a dog to have ADHD, she would have it. She is much better with this harness than with a normal harness. (A regular collar has her pulling and chocking herself much of the walk. I had originally purchased the XL for the Berner (100 lbs) and Lab (75 lbs) and a M for the Aussie (30 lbs). I liked the harness so much and hated having to adjust it. The Berner is much bulkier than the Lab and I figured I liked it so much - each dog should have her own. I purchased the package - which just means it comes with a double clipped leash. I do take the Berner's leash off and give her two normal 6' leashes to allow her more freedom when walking. I took the leash from hers and put it on the Aussies - again to give her a little more exploring room. The lab hasn't earned that much freedom yet, but we will get there. When walking my Bernese I can actually just walk her with one finger. It isn't because I am a great trainer - but because with the clip on the front of the harness, she understands to not pull. It is much much better than a collar around her neck. I love it. I'll try and count how long it takes for the chocolate lab to catch on. I will try and update the post to let you know. But to recap - Berner - learned not to pull in 3 walks. Aussie - much better but so much energy she is pinging off the walls - so not ready to say she has been converted yet. Chocolate lab - after 3 walks she still forgets that she can't pull but continues to try her old tricks. Three month update...So, again - three dogs...The mountain dog is very good with any type of leash now. No pulling, no lunging when we pass other critters or people. The lab has finally gotten the routine down and is doing much, much better. When we pass another dog she may start to lunge but i pull her shoulders off balance and she remembers I have control of her forward movement. The Aussie is good but she's still young. She forgets she has the leash on and still darts at the geese or rabbit. I can shut her down very quickly however and she isn't pulling herself to a choke. I have braved taking all 3 dogs on a walk at one time. The leash situation is a bit crazy because they can become tangled quickly. But, that is the case whenever you have more than two dogs at once. Once we got about 3 houses down (200-300 feet) they settled into tehir routine. We passed a jogger and another dog/person. I had them sit while the people / dog walked/jogged passed. They did fairly well. The Mountain dog decided if she could move she could bark - so she did. The lab was the first one to break the sit and try and follow the dog and then the Aussie followed. They all still need work. But, the important point her is that I did have control of three dogs under this situation and no one ended up choking or pulling me over. I am very glad of my purchase. And, you have to remember, I am not just talking about one leash/harness - I bought three - so I am about $100 bucks into this and still very happy with this training tool.

Helps to prevent pulling
I have been trying to get hold of this specific harness for months following borrowing one from my neighbour who uses them on both her Labradors. I was really impressed as it did reduce the amount of pulling that I have been enduring from my young Kelpie. I have tried a number of harnesses as well as carrying out plenty of training but she was determined to pull. You still need to continue training but because you can steer your dog from the front fastening across the chest, and relax the lead if also fastened to the back, my dog doesn't feel the need to pull as dogs instinctively want to do when they feel pressure from a back fastening harness. Try it as it really does help. May not be the cheapest harness on the market but I think it is well worth the money as it is also very well made and the soft velvet straps do not rub your dog and so it is comfortable for them to wear.

Comfortable, soft, looks smart!
Our dog had bald patches in her armpits - we think from an allergy but the old harness was certainly rubbing and must've been making her sore. She loves her walks, but she'd be reluctant to have the old harness put on. This new one is perfect. She's been happy to have it put on every time. She's a collie crossed with something, with an unusually broad rib cage. It is a little too big for her (we knew it would be) but since she's not the sort of dog that would wriggle out of her harness and bolt, we're not worried about that. We're just so happy she's comfortable! The harness looks lovely, too.

Good design
A little tricky to get to right size, but once there no rubbing on dog so comfy for him. Good design as he canโt get his mouth down to chew it, but helps to keep control of he pulls. With training as well as using the harness, our puppy is learning not to pull now and starting to walk nicely.

Great harness, happy dog, happy owner
Amazing. My dog pulls like crazy on a normal harness and with this one he may pull for a second and then he stops because it's so well secured. Best of all it doesn't leave him raw and red from pulling like some other harnesses we've tired (and we've tried a lot)

Puts a stop to pulling
Great at stopping my boy from pulling. Little sod chewed the side strap on the 3rd outing
