The rod holder does NOt fit a 1 1/2" rail. It os for a 1" rail at the most. My rail is an 1 1/4" and it too small to even fit the 1 1/4" rail. It may work on a 1" rail. The box notes it is for 1 to 1/12 rail. The spacing between the set screws is barley over 1" Maybe Sealux has labeling issues on their boxes
