fits my needs - good vendor - good product
arrived very fast and the material was about what i had imagined it to be (one of the drawbacks of online purchases - no product scrutiny).but it is well made & fits very well providing full coverage.the only bad thing was waaay too much packaging as well as poor choice of materials used for packaging. the use of heavy plastics in product labeling and wrapping was a huge turn-off. the packaging will be around for thousands of years and while the product will last a few years at best and that's sad.aside from that - the vendor is a great vendor and the product is a good one (except the silk screened product logo is NOT on the neck - it's on the head and i had to scrape it off - BAD MOVE Chaos - people do not want to be walking adverts).as noticed before, this product is NOT intended to be a final solution in overall above the neck warmth. it should be worn with any warm hat of your choice - which is what i intended to do when i bought it.i work outside at night and cannot stand wind on my neck or other areas going back past the cheek towards the ears & so forth, so i looked at a lot of these before i settled on this one.this particular one was chosen because of what it covers and how it covers:-it is snug and form fitting, it covers the neck and further past the neck.-i wear glasses and needed something to cover up most of the mouth to nose area but allow breathing without fogging.-i have client contact and need something that showed a good area of my face while keeping critical areas warm. looking like a bank robber at night is NOT a good idea and this product walks that fine line successfully.-it can be worn for mountain climbing and skiing, i would use it for that.-temp tolerance in the wind may extend to 0 Fahrenheit, i'm not sure of this assessment, but i have to trust my instincts with this idea since i will use it in temps that go down as far as -19 Fahrenheit, and my confidence in the product has to extend that far.i needed something of a bit lighter materials since temps can vary greatly and this product fit that also.one wants to be warm, but not uncomfortable should the temps rise.after looking fairly thoroughly for what i wanted, i never found exactly what i wanted. i was torn between items that are thicker and can be depended upon in pure survival situations - and items that are utilitarian yet more public friendly. after assessing my needs, i decided that i will not be in a survival situation and went with this one, and therefor do not regret my choice. i put it on with my regular cold weather beanie and had no problems with a good fit, visibility, breathing or fogging of the glasses. because of its design, i'm sure there will be NO icing due to exhaling breath vapor, nor chapped lips or fabric irritation due to poor stitching placement in tender spots on the head & face, etc.if these criteria are also concerns you have to consider, perhaps this review will be of some aid in your decision.for my purposes, it's money well-spent.just get a sharpie, some black-dye or a razor blade to take care of the obnoxious, rude logo & you'll be good.

I like this balaclava from the same brand better
I have a larger head (almost a size 8 hat) so others may not find this as tight as I did. This feels very tight, but I still use it. The material is a bit thin (maybe because its too small and is really stretched?) so it does not protect as well as other balaclavas, especially when it is windy. I like this balaclava from the same brand better,ย Chaos -CTR Tempest Multi Tasker Pro Micro Fleece Balaclava with Windproof Face Mask, Black, Large/X-Large ย although the linked one is loose on me, so may not be the best option for people with smaller heads.

Awesome Balaclava Full Head Cover
This Balaclava is amazing! It fits greats, is very warm, and feels snug. The opening for the eyes is spot on, and lends well to protective eyewear. The extra length for the neck tucks into jackets, and the cool ninja feel can't be topped! The fabric alteration at the nostrils for breathing works well, and rests easy on the bridge.Heads up: If you need this for exercise or strenuous activity, the Dri-Release Wool does not allow for labored breathing. You will be fighting a labored breath more than the workout or climate. Use this with a light or leisurely pace!

OK for neck and mouth coverage, but does not cut wind and will not replace a warm hat
Only the lower half of this thing is a thermal type, synthetic wool material. The top half is extremely lightweight materiat -- not warm at all.It doesn't seem meant for actually keeping your head warm.On my commute this morning, my neck and mouth were well covered, but my ears, forehead, temples, and the rest of my head got stung hard by wind.It doesn't really block the wind at all.You might rely on this as a base warmth layer, especially if you have a helmet or other headwear. It won't do you a whole lot of good on its own.

Excellent
this product is as good as it was advertised to be on Amazon. The Material is of strong, true color,a good, non-sweaty material that feels very good to the touch. Sizing is accurate. Kept me warm. I would refer my friends to purchase this item. This product was bought for an unusual purpose--to keep my face warm during PET scans as part of Chemo-Therapy.I am very happy with the outcome.

Excellent product for price!
This product came in handy when the snow started heavily in Colorado, keeps your head warm and is very light. One small drawback (hence the 4 stars) is that for people who wear specs, since the mask has no breathing holes, when one breathes the vapor travels upwards and hence fogs your vision.

Good if you don't wear glasses
I thought the design wouldn't cause my glasses to fog like other face-masks but unfortunately they still did. Also, I have to be really careful putting my glasses on and taking them off because the mask fits very tight (I got the large - I wear standard size hats)Otherwise, it is really warm - Ive been using it in 0 to -10 degree (F) weather

Mountain Biking not recommended.
PROS: The best hooded mask for winter. Keeps my head & face warm & protected. Very good material used.CONS: When you use this for winter storm, and the wind is blowing like crazy in Chicago, the moist from your breathing chokes you because of icing problem. Not recommending this for winter biking.
