I wouldn't expect This bag to hold schoolbooks so if that's what you are thinking keep shopping.Now we got this bag for an 11 year old as an overnight bag or to take to dance. It should fit the bill nicely. Obviously you can't put much weight in this pack hence the rope straps. It does seem plenty sturdy. The pack itself was a bit heavier in weight than expected. The logo has that rubbery feel to it so it may peel off in time. It would make a nice beach or lake bag. For 10 dollars and change I have no complaints.

I purchased this as a Christmas gift for my 11 year old cousin. He was so excited. He said it was much nicer than the one he had before that had torn up. This one seems to have really good stitching and the strings are thick. It looks like it will hold up well.

Love my Clemson bag. It is sturdy and waterproof. Great to put accessories in.
