petprojekt Large Bloat Blocker, Slow Feeder for Dogs

I own the petprojekt dogbols for each of my dogs, and thought these would be great to slow their eating down a bit because I didnt want to get rid of my pretty bowls. Before putting the bloat blocker in the bowl I cleaned both surfaces with soap to remove any slobber or food residue. I then proceded to insert the bloat blockers and dog food and let my dogs eat.Before they were done eating one of them had already popped up and unsuctioned the bloat blocker from the bowl without much force. I thought it may have been a problem with the suction cup on that one, but soon after my other dog also had an unattached blocker. I proceded to try them for about 3 days before returning them because they would not stay suctioned for more than 60 seconds when eating, or maybe 5 minutes without being touched at all. They just unsuctioned by themselves.I would not recommend these and was very disappointed because I love my dogbols and dogmat made by petprojekt. I was expecting a great product, but the bloat blocker did not meet my expectations at all. While I love the other products made by petprojekt, I would give these 0 stars if I could.

Our Doberman puppy is a chow hound that guzzles his food. Although tennis balls in the bowl slowed him down we were afraid of the felt making him sick. The zig-zag bowls are nice to slow the eating but due to his breed - he has a slim nose and was acting like a vacuum. This cone works great. The only thing that I would recommend is to be sure to "water stick" it or else it comes loose easily from the dog trying to get at the food and nudging it.

The suction cup doesn't stay stuck to the bottom of the bowl. Portion pacers work much better, I'll stick with those.
