a great robe
I got this 3 1/2 months ago and have worn it pretty often. It is a very comfortable robe. I love that it fits over my flannel nightgowns, or even over a sweatsuit or some leggings and a turtleneck, or whatever I happen to be wearing around the house when I feel I want a little added warmth. Yet, it is not so voluminous that it is awkward. The weight is ideal--not light, not heavy. The super-tufted chenille texture shed a little in the first couple of washings (wash it by itself the first two times) but that is fine, it is still nice and soft to the touch, just not as "velour-y."The color was just as shown, emerald green, although it has faded a tad in repeated washings.I can't stand wearing polyester, it makes me feel like I'm in a zip-lock bag, so the cotton is perfect. Sometimes cotton is so light it is cool, but this has a nice weight, so it is a perfect medium-weight robe.I would have liked a hood, but hooded robes are hard to find. As it is, the collar is high enough to keep my neck comfortably warm. The full length zipper makes it very convenient to get on and off, or you can leave it all the way open if you want a cooler effect.

Wash it before you think it is too big!
I bought this, opened the package, tried it on and decided to return it and order the medium instead of the large. Then, after I had submitted it for return, I remembered I hadn't fully read the reviews. In doing so, I found that the robe would shrink with washing. Even though it says wash in cold water, I washed it in warm, dried it on high, took it out and tried it on. Now it isn't too big!!! It is roomy, to be sure, but who wants a tight robe? I am really happy I did that because I have long wanted a 100% cotton robe, exactly in the blue color I bought, and this is it! So I'm writing this review to help others with the same reaction when they receive it.

Sized right, welll-made; fluffy outside, textured inside
My robe arrived quickly, and is true to size "S". I'm 5'3" with long arms. It comes to my ankle-bone, the arms come past the wristbone as pictured, but will stay folded up if desired. I wanted a zip-front robe, warm, lightweight, and well-constructed to wear at home in the winter. This robe is 100% cotton, which is rare. The seams and stitching are well-finished. Zipper works smoothly. It has loft, yet isn't too bulky or heavy. On the inside it's like an old-fashioned chenille bedspread. On the outside it is more fluffy. While the inside is highly textured, it doesn't feel "scratchy" or prickly to me as mohair would; (in fact, if the inside were fluffy like the outside, it would bother me more; I have sensitive skin). However, the raised texture is not very comfortable on my skin after a few minutes. For this reason, I prefer to call this a "housecoat" rather than a "bathrobe". It will be perfectly comfortable with a thin layer, and warm too. I plan to wash & dry it on "cold/gentle" by itself (thanks to previous reviews).

This is REAL chenille!
I LOVE this robe! I had previously bought what was advertised as a "chenille" robe that wasn't. It was a poly blend fabric that did not look, feel or act like chenille and it shed all over my house even after many, many washings. This robe is 100% cotton chenille - just like the bedspread that grandma used to have. It is warm, soft and cozy and so far, does NOT shed. I am 5'6" and 165 lbs. and the large fits like it was made for me. The length is perfect - right to the top of my slippers. I cannot say enough good things about this purchase. It is the best Christmas present I've ever bought myself.

Quality good, but runs somewhat small and shrinks a bit.
I like this robe because it is made well and is of good quality. The color is a beautiful mint green and did not fade when I washed it. Because it is made of 100% cotton, I washed it according to the directions on the robe, in cold water. I dried it in the dryer like it recommended; however, I dried it on low temperature instead of the recommended medium because I was afraid it would shrink more on the hotter temperature. I normally buy bigger than I need, an XXL, because I like my robes roomy, but I should have bought an XXXL. I can still zip it up, and it fits, but it is nowhere near as roomy as I like my robes. If you like your bedclothes roomy, then my opinion is that you should buy at least one size up. One other thing is that the sleeves are long. They go halfway into my hand and if I am going to do anything other than sit and read, I have to fold them up so they don't drag into stuff.

Exactly as advertised - buy one size larger
Exactly what I wanted and expected, and delivered on schedule. I normally wear a X large, but they didn't have it, so ordered XX Large. I would suggest going a size larger than you normally wear in clothing, because this is perfect fit, with some wiggle room you expect in a robe. Not a heavy robe, but didn't expect that either, as I will wear it over pajamas or loungewear. Love the color (mint). I am 5' 4", and length is to top of my feet. I like a full-length robe, but don't want to trip over it, either. We'll see how it goes after washing.

I've had 3 of these over the years...
I've always loved cotton chenille, and this has NO POLYESTER in it. I cannot wear that awful synthetic stuff. I'm 5'6" and am usually between 135-145, so I've had both medium and large. The medium fit perfectly, but I prefer the large because I can wear flannel PJs under it, plus it does shrink (but only a little). I wash and dry it on medium heat and it comes out nice and soft. A few years ago, when I bought the teal robe (yes, it's really dark green!), it bled in the wash at first, but after awhile, that stopped. Since then, I've had the light blue and the light turquoise, and have not had the bleeding problem at all. Maybe they improved it after a few years. I just love wearing it when I cocoon on the sofa on a cold, wet night, with lots of pillows. Another good thing, when I had abdominal surgery, it was great NOT to have a sash. I highly recommend this to people with sensitive skin that cannot tolerate synthetic fabrics.

Perfect
The color was much prettier then expected. Size was just right and length was good. I'm 5'6" so need a longer robe. It's all cotton. I washed it in cool water, partially dried it on low heat, and hung it to finish drying. Turned out beautiful and no shrinkage. Good quality at a good price. Very satisfied.

Too expensive for what you'll get
Not worth the money.
