Keeps debris and food from going back in the tank.. Rinse out and repeat. I love these. It is a nice thick piece and should last a long time. Highly recommend these, and then I use a polisher to keep the water crystal clear

I use this for air cleaner material in my lawn power equipment. Easy to cut to exact size and shape. Oil it a little and it works great. Perfect thickness, 3/4", for single layer or double it if needed..

Comes in Chinese packaging. Certainly not odor free as claimed. In fact, it smells so bad that I'm afraid to use it in an aquarium. Overpriced for a cheaply made piece of foam.

Invest into these things, its one of the best reusable filters for a fish. But depends on the tank you use. For me I used majority of the sponge since I have lots of filter room. Make sure to clean the product before putting it in!

Large block of foam that can be used to put over filter intake, output, or anything else in aquarium. It's cheap and I probably wont need to buy any more for a long time.
