Love these !
These slippers are exactly what I hoped. The size runs a bit small. I wear an 8 1/2 shoe. I ordered the 8-9. It fits very nicely but I think I would order up if someone wears a size 9 shoe. The sole feels good and does not slip on our floor. The sox portion fits well. The sock is warm and stays in place. I ordered the red. It is brick red and perfect. I am pleased with this purchase.

Warm
I love them. Very warm. I wear a size 9 and ordered the medium. It fits just right. A little tight in the leg but I am sure they will stretch as I wear them better and be a little tight now then fall down.

I've been wearing these my whole life….
12/2018 - UPDATE #3 (revisiting this product after a recent purchase)Gave these another chance after an ancient pair finally became unwearable. Happy to report that the quality and fit have improved since my last purchase attempt and return in early 2017.Measuring a Men's US 10.5, I purchased a LARGE, which fit perfectly, like an ever so slightly roomy sock (about 1/2 size larger than my foot). Sizing is confusing at best here on Amazon. Would recommend the manufacturer really clear up the way it's listed. Currently there are conflicting size guidelines. The Amazon provided 'Size Chart' link lists a Men's LARGE as US 10.5-11.5, the drop-down purchase size option lists a Men's LARGE as US 9-10, the Acorn Web Site 'Size Chart' shows a Men's LARGE as US 9-10, the packaging I received (with a brown chart on the side) shows a Men's LARGE as US 9-10, while some alternate packaging (orange chart), shown in photos of some reviews, lists a Men's LARGE as US 10.5-11.5. Confused? Me too. I went with a LARGE and it fits my Men's US 10.5 foot. But if you are a US11, I'd size up to an XL.Previous issues with the ankle being too tight were resolved with my pair. Currently they fit as I remember they have all my life. Will report back if there are durability issues, but for now I'm optimistic Acorn has gotten their act together once again.Have deducted 1 star due to the sizing being so confusing and counterintuitive.2/2017 - UPDATE #2 (to my previous reviews below, from 5 stars originally to 3 and now 1):OK, I bit the bullet and ordered a new pair of these in XL. The length is fine, the construction looks OK, but as others have reported, the ankle is now SO tight, they are difficult to get on. The force required is such that it will only be a matter of time before they start to tear. Not to mention they are uncomfortable. I've NEVER had this problem with these slipper socks. As I've said in previous reviews, I've been a customer for decades.Something has happened to ACORN. Their manufacturing has radically declined. It's sad to see a trusted, once American Made product, go down the tubes. I hope that ACORN gets it together and evaluates their quality control. As for now, the brand is unwearable for me.2/2017 - UPDATE #1 (to my previous review below):Though I still like this product, I find they are not as durable as they once were. I see others reporting the same issue both here and on the ACORN website. This appears to have coincided with moving manufacturing out of the US. I hope that ACORN takes notice and improves this product and returns to their previous high standards.----------------------------------------------------------------------1/2014 - I grew up with these and every decade or so I need a new pair. Yes, I said "decade." So pleased that they still make them. The quality remains excellent. My foot measure a US men's 10.5, I wear 11-12's depending on the shoes (usually 11.5) and these fit perfectly.Need I say more?

Almost everything that used to make them worth the $$ is gone
Well, I am so glad I got them for the price I did ($19.95 + shipping) or I would be very unhappy. The navy ragg wool is nice and thick and a gorgeous color. Also, the cushion for the sole is nice, thick and squishy and does feel like a cloud, just lovely. That said, the rest of this slipper is disappointing. The band of finished leather around the bottom is 1/2 an inch at most when it use to be much wider, especially surrounding the heel. My old (Original Acorn) pair is nearly an inch and a 1/4 there and it helps protect the heel from wear better as well as making the foot more secure (less sliding around in the slipper). The sole on my old pair is black rubber, which isn't vulnerable to cracking if it gets the slightest bit damp, unlike the suede that's currently on there.I have no issue with the seller at all; they didn't make them. But the current version is not worth the higher price and is definitely not worth more than $20. The $40 and $50 price tags I see are ridiculous. The quality just isn't worth that anymore. It's a shame.

Great for cold mornings.
Well padded inner soles; not removable. Warm. The smooth leather soles could be a problem on hard-wood floors or steps; not much traction.Unless you have a reason to order the calf-high, and have thin calves; don't. I bought these for the extra padding around the ankles, and not sure that was necessary.I like the fit, sturdy construction, and quality; I would buy from this company again. (And in couple years, probably will.)

Not what they used to be...
I've been enjoying Acorn slippers socks for many years. They're very comfortable, they keep your lower legs warm, not just your feet, and you can sit crosslegged without having to remove them, unlike most shoe-style slippers. But the last three pairs that I have purchased have not lasted well. I used to get a few years of use from a pair but not anymore. The pair I got a few years ago wore through in the sock heel within a few months. The next pair developed holes in the sock around my toes within a few months, as well. I thought that perhaps this wear problem related to using a small size so I ordered a medium, and within three months the heel on onside has started to go. It was good run, but I won't be buying these anymore.

Worth every dime - they're a Winter "Must-Have"
I buy these Acorn slippers about every 6 or 7 years. YES, they last that long, and since I only wear them in winter, they last for years My first pair lasted 10 years - and of course I washed them! Mostly I wear them over clean socks, but if I wear them barefoot, I wash and line-dry them and they retain their shape and stretchiness. They're really warm, and have cushiony inside soles. Worth every dime I paid!

Sent me the wrong size twice!
We love these slipper socks (have a pair a few years old) but have ordered medium (size 8) sized socks twice, and twice have been sent a size 5-6. It's too bad, we were looking forward to them

Well designed
With other slip on slippers one tends to adjust ones gait depending on the snugness or looseness of the slipper. With these slippers you walk properly because they are so fitted, so if you have knee or hip issues this is a great choice!

A great purchase
I love everything About these slippers. They were a bit difficult to get off and on the first time but adjusted perfectly after that. They are warm without making my feet too warm and I love the way they look. I would highly recommend them.
